The villa is situated among the hills that fringe the eastern Algarve coast. The villa faces southeast and nestles just below the ruins of an old windmill. Although only recently completed the villa retains the Portuguese style and charm of the old farmhouse that originally stood on the site, but now offers the comfort of a modern villa. The farmhouse is spacious and many of the rooms have high ceilings covered with limed pine. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and the villa is centrally heated with a wood burning stove. A garden patio surrounds the house and this provides ample space for outside dining, relaxing and safe playing for children. The views from the patio are uninterrupted across the surrounding countryside with stands of carob and cork trees. The pool is surrounded by a patio with cypress trees and overlooked by an elevated garden with palms, bamboo, lavender bushes and bougainvillea. The pool is heated by solar panels and totally enclosed by walls and secure gates.

Living Rooms: The dining room has an 8-seater wood table with high-backed chairs and a cupboard with books, maps and guides. The lounge has two sofas, antique chests, and a woodburning stove. TV has satellite connection to UK freeview and a CD player.
Other: All bedrooms are airconditioned and all have ample built-in wardrobe space and bedside tables. Bedroom 1 opens onto two balconies overlooking the countryside and garden. Bedroom 3 opens directly onto the garden patio.

Outside
The patio areas and the pool have been fenced, walled and gated to make them as safe as possible for children. Ample garden furniture, high-quality pool loungers and a barbecue are provided. There is a separate parking area for 3/2 cars with automatic gates. The pool is private and measures 12m by 4m. It is heated by solar panel and is cleaned regularly.

Coast/Beach
Closest beach (20 minute drive away) is close to Santa Lucia which has a small railway taking you to magnificent sand dunes and golden sands.

Golf
Numerous golf courses are within easy driving distance.

Travel
Nearest airport is Faro which is a 35-minute drive away. The use of a car is essential. Access close to the villa is by a new paved road with only a 80m long unpaved section to the villa itself.

Distances
Tavira and Sao Bras with excellent supermarket, restaurants, shops etc are both about a 25 minute drive. Santa Catarina with a cash point and small convenience store is about a 15-minute drive.
