Casa Cosmo is located in the Western Algarve, 25 minutes from Cape St Vincent, the furthest point in the Algarve, as well as being only one hour's drive from the Airport at Faro. The house is located in an area that was occupied by local fishermen. Many have been restored and often extra floors added as in the case of Casa Cosmo, but they do retain their local character. There are many very beautiful beaches within easy reach, including Salema, Xavial, Inghrina, Martinhal; Praia donna Anna, and Porto da Mos, nr Lagos, as well as on the West Coast such as Praia de Castelejo. There is wind surfing, wave culture, shark fishing, sailing, a local sports centre with three tennis courts, archery, painting groups to join, bird watching, walking, as well as much more to occupy you as well as sunbathing! The house has a view at the top over the village and it appreciates wonderful sunsets. It is on three floors, there is a hotel behind in which you can share the pool at 2 Euro a visit.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. The owner is happy to let for any length of time.
Changeover day
Changeover days can vary according to where you are coming from. Birmingham travellers tend to arrive on a Thursday. The owner is flexible, but if you want to book 6 days you will have to pay for 7. The holidays will have to be 7, 14 or more days.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | On the ground floor is a double room with bathroom en-suite. There is also a small single room that would be ideal for a young child. On the middle floor there is another double room with balcony off, also shared by a smaller three-quarter bedroom. |
| Bathrooms: | On the ground floor is a bathroom with rain-shower, bath, toilet and washbasin. Very attractive tiles and floor tiles. On the first floor is a shower room with toilet and wash basin. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is part of the living room/dining area/studio at the top of the property. The cooker is about to be upgraded. There is a fridge with a freezer compartment. There is a very well equipped kitchen with attractive eating utensils and glasses. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room at the top of Casa Cosmo has access to the top balcony with barbecue. It is ideal for relaxing for drinks in the evening. There is a large sofa, dining table, and breakfast bar, plus the kitchen area at the far end of the room. |
| Other: | There is an entrance hall, with a key box at the door which you code in a number to obtain the key. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Change of bed linen and towels takes place with each booking and the property is cleaned after each visitor has left. If you wish to have linen and towel changes for bookings longer than one week you must let the owner know. |
Notes on accommodation
The house is particularly suited to three young couples. There is only one three-quarter bedroom that a couple could use and one single room that would suit a child.

Accessibility
Casa Cosmo has a staircase that takes you up two flights from the ground floor. It would not be suitable for disabled or wheelchair users, or anyone who would find two flights of stairs too much.
Outside
There are two balconies, one on the first floor with a cactus garden, and the top floor balcony has a barbecue and you can sunbathe there from 12 noon onwards. The owner has arranged access to the hotel pool (see photograph) at 2 Euro a session.
Coast/Beach
The walk to the beach at Burgau literally talks about 3 minutes. Otherwise there are many beautiful beach within easy reach.
Travel
The nearest airport is at Faro and we recommend hiring a car with Luz Car Hire. This can be done in advance and the owner will provide the company's telephone number. It takes one hour exactly to Burgau from Faro and the owner with provide instructions how to get there.
Distances
Burgau is 20 minutes from the town of Lagos. Lagos is a very attractive Moorish town which is pedestrian free in the most part, it has a marina and very modern and good shops. There are banks, many restaurants, boats to go fishing, bullfights, etc.
Further details
Burgau has two supermarkets. One is ideal for doing bulk shopping, the other for more every day items. There is a very good supermarket at the village Budens that is on the N125. This could be described as a 'Waitrose'! There are many very good restaurants in Burgau and that is its delight. There is the Beach Bar, The Hut which is five star, The Ancora, Restaurant Matthias, Esquinos (excellent), Casa Grande, The Beira Mar, plus many more.

The owner uses the house in order to paint and photograph the lovely Algarve scenery. She and her family have been coming to the Algarve for 27 years, and the house has been added to and rearranged over that time.
