Surrounded by olive groves, just a few minutes from the lovely old market town of Estoi and within walking distance of the village of Azinheiro, the villa was architect designed in a traditional Moorish style some twenty years ago and stands in its own grounds of about half an acre. It is within easy driving distance of the beaches, golf courses, local restaurants, shops and markets.

Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday with guests arriving after 2pm and leaving by 10am. The changeover day can be flexible outside the main season.

Living Rooms: Spacious lounge with ample seating and a wood burning fire. There is Satellite TV, DVD and video, a radio CD and cassette player and a digital wall safe. The dining room is fully equipped.

The property is managed locally and is cleaned twice a week. Towels and linen are included.

Outside
The gardens have a variety of plants and fruit trees, including orange, lemon and lime and a gazebo overlooking the valley.
The swimming pool is approximately 10m by 5m (about 1.7m deep) with underwater lighting and extensive paved terraces and verandas, all providing breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. There is a built-in barbeque, sun loungers, sun umbrellas, garden tables and chairs.

Coast/Beach
The villa is situated in the hills and the beaches are 15 minutes drive away. There are many unspoilt beaches and coves just to the East of Faro. The housebook has details and the house manager can assist with directions.

Golf
Vale de Lobo, Quinta do Lago, Vilamoura etc are 20 minutes drive away as are the courses around Tavira, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima and Benamor. Towards the Spanish border there are several other courses including Castro Marim and the Ballesteros designed Quinta do Vale. The house manager can arrange tee times at all the courses.

Travel
A car is essential and Faro Airport, where cars can be rented and collected, is 20 minutes drive away.

Distances
Azinheiro is within walking distance with the historic town of Estoi 2 miles away and Sao Bras de Alportel about 4 miles away. The shopping centres of Faro are about 15 minutes drive away.

Further details
The house book provides details of the local restaurants, local places of interest and the supermarkets. The house manager is Portuguese, married to an Englishman and speaks excellent English. She can help with local information and has looked after the villa for many years.

Booking notes
We will send a booking form together with rates and optional extras (cot etc). A deposit of 30% is required on booking with the remainder payable 8 weeks before departure. Keys and directions are provided a few weeks before departure.

About the owner
Retired and now living in Portugal, we have owned the villa for almost 8 years and many of our guests are regulars who appreciate the privacy and views. Cidalia, our house manager, is well liked by our guests and is a local who speaks excellent English.
