Casa Lumi is a delightful new villa furnished to a high standard to offer our clients the best comfort and elegance. It is a haven of tranquility and relaxation surrounded by a large garden with orange and lemon trees and amazing views of the mountains and countryside. It is not unusual to see locals still working the rich fertile land with an ox-drawn cart. The local church has traditional festivals throughout the year. A water fountain with fresh mountain water is just a short stroll away.

Notes on accommodation
Casa Lumi is a comfortable home from home, it is suitable for children with two cots and two highchairs. Cable TV with Eurosport, Sky News and Cartoon Network a few of the favourites. We are sure you will feel at home in this incredible house with luxurious furnishings and everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Accessibility
The property offers good wheelchair access on the ground floor and leading out onto the covered veranda from the lounge. The ground floor accommodation offers a double bedroom and a fully fitted bathroom next to it.
Outside
Large garden with table, chairs and parasol, sun loungers and BBQ. Lawned area with orange and lemon trees. Private 6x4m swimming pool with rock feature waterfall and outside shower. Dart board and darts available.
Coast/Beach
River Homem is within walking distance of the villa, where the locals swim in the summer months, nearest beaches are at Esposende and Ofir where there are long stretches of beautiful clean sandy beaches, approximately 35 minutes drive. Horse-riding, hiking, safari jeeps, canoeing and watersports within 15 mins drive.
Golf
30 minutes drive to one of the best Par 71, 18 hole golf courses in the North of Portugal located in Ponte de Lima. The course covers 6kms adorned with luxurious vegetation and well restored historical mansions. The first 9 holes are hilly with the second 9 holes flatter. Course fees are approx 50 euros for 18 holes.
Special interest holidays
Water sports are available on the Caniçada Lakes next to the Geres National Park, an area of natural outstanding beauty, (only 15km away), the views are amazing. Safari jeep rides, jet skis, pedaloes, boat hire, horse-riding, archery, paintball, quad bikes and fishing also available. Guided walking trails and rock climbing down waterfalls nearby. River beach within 10 minutes walk. Day trips can be arranged locally to visit the beauty of the National Park. Adventure days out can also be arranged locally.
Spa breaks at the nearby Caldelas Thermal Spa (6kms) providing various treatments including hydromassage at 22 euros, facials, body wraps etc, a wonderful experience at next to nothing cost.
Travel
Porto airport is located a 1 hour drive from the villa (65km) 30 minutes motorway and 30 minutes country roads, well sign-posted. Santiago de Compestelo airport in Spain is a 2 hour drive (190km). Car hire is recommended, taxi transfers available upon request (prices from 70 euros one way).
Flights: Ryanair from Stansted, Bristol, Liverpool and Dublin (2 hours). TAP Air Portugal from Heathrow and Gatwick (2 hours)
BA to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain (2 hours)
Distances
Casa Lumi is ideally situated between the historical city of Braga (18km) with its ancient Cathedral and the Castelo of Bom Jesus with its monumental stairway interspersed with chapels and fountains. The therapeutic spa and outside swimming pools of Caldelas are only 7km away and the Canicada Lakes and National Park of Geres are also close by. The Municipal Football Stadium of Braga is approx 15km away.
Further details
Within the village of Souto there are 3 restaurants, 1 pizzaria, 3 bars/coffee shops (1 is only a minute walk away), 2 mini-supermarkets and Church. Banks, post office, chemist, health centre, further shops and restaurants are 5 kms away in Terras de Bouro town. A natural water spring is a few minutes walk for fresh drinking water.
Free Internet access available at the Posto Turismo in Terras de Bouro town (5 minutes by car).

Just to let you know that we had an amazing time at 'Casa Lumi' last week.
The villa was wonderful, very very spacious and very well equipped.
The new pool was lovely. Souto is a lovely village and the surrounding area beautiful.
We were quite late getting to the house, but we were greeted by a welcoming Helena and her very helpful assistant (daughter?) O Vaticano was still happy to serve us some much needed food and wine and even provided us with some other essentials.
We have had a wonderful time in your beautiful house. Monte Sta Isabel in your backyard is very special, this is the real Portugal, living as it is, thankyou, The Weerkamp family, The Netherlands.
