Coast/Beach
10 min walk to the coast with souvenir market and restaurants called ‘Boca do Inferno’. It will take approx. 15 mins walk to local Cascais beach and the centre of town. You can walk further down to Estoril all along a boulevard. Great area for walkers. Along the coast there is the world famous Guincho beach which has hosted surfing and wind surfing competitions.
Golf
The Costa do Estoril is the ideal location for golfers. The golf courses of Oitavos, Quinta da Marinha, Quinta da Beloura, Estoril (27 holes) are nearby (15 mins drive). Penha Longa (27 holes), Belas, the Lisbon Sports Club are within a 20 min drive. Within an hour’s drive are Praia D’El Rey, Ribagolfe I & II, St Estavao, Qtª do Peru, Aroeira I & II, Montado and Troia. The Atlântico da Penha Longa course has already been the scene of several European Tour competitions. This hilly course offers broad magnificent views over the countryside that surrounds you with the mountains and the sea. The Quinta da Marinha Oitavos course, Par 71, 6933 Yards, Slope 134, the newest in the region, designed by the famous American architect Arthur Hills, is the first course in Europe and the second in the world to have the Audubon International ‘Certified Signature Sanctuary/Gold’.
Travel
Lisbon Airport 30 km. Car not essential. Perhaps on the day of arrival and departure a taxi would be the best option. Otherwise local public transport is perfectly fine.

Cascais Tourist Information Centre is on Rua Visconde da Luz 14, Cascais. Tel: 214 868204. Open from 9am to 7pm Mondays to Saturdays from Sept to June and until 8pm from July to August. Sundays open from 10am to 6pm. It's an excellent tourist info centre this one, with good maps both for the Estoril coast area and for Lisbon city centre.
Great urban beaches combine here with a choice of Cascais cultural centres and museums. Fishing is still strong here, and Cascais is a centre for sailing, with regattas and sailing competitions held here. Cascais's modern marina gives it an edge, as does its superb choice of shops, its historic fort and its pleasant pedestrianised streets.
