A short drive will find numerous golf courses, water parks and theme parks.

Notes on accommodation
Villa 35 is suitable for couples both young and elderly, families with children young and old. Dual air conditioning and heating for the cooler months is included. Free parking on site close to the villa. The resort has a laundry room with washing and drying facilities. Smoking is not allowed inside the property.
Outside
Villa 35 has manicured gardens in front of the balcony leading to two communal swimming pools, one of which is for our younger guests. The balcony has a patio table, seating for 5 persons and a parasol.
Coast/Beach
Many beaches can be found along the roads both east and west of the villa, but just 6 minutes walk straight outside the resort will bring you to Sao Rafeal beach which was voted Portugal's best beach for 2008. A 5 minute drive eastwards finds Albufeiras' new marina and continue for a further 5 minutes to find the Old Town Beach offering many water sports. To the west finds beaches every 2 kms - Coelha beach, Castelo beach, Evaristo beach and Gale beach.
Golf
The 72 par (6,080 metres) Salgados links golf course is only 3 kms west of the resort. This course presents a different challenge due to the many water hazards and sea breezes. A true test of golf.
Within a 25 minute radius you can drive to many more famous golf courses including the Gramacho & Pinta courses at Carvoeiro, the Vila sol, Pinhal, Millenium and Old Course at Vilamoura, the Pine Cliffs resort course at Pinhal do Concelho featuring one the most photographed holes in golf - the Devils Parlour, a 130 metre carry across a red rock coastal ravine.
There is also a par 3 course for beginners and those wishing to practice their short play at Balaia Golf Village in Albufeira.
Travel
The nearest airport is Faro which is about a 30 minute drive. Transfer to and from the airport can be arranged through the reception at Ponta Grande. Car is not necessary but if you would like to take advantage of the resorts central location within the Algarve it is recommended to hire a car to fully appreciate the surrounding areas.
Distances
Albufeiras' New Marina is 2kms, Albufeira Old town beach and many restaurants and bars 3kms, Albufeiras' Montechoro strip with restaurants and nightlife 4kms, Gale Beach 3kms, Guia village famous for the introduction of chicken piri piri 5kms, Algarve Shopping Centre 5kms. Swim with dolphins at Zoomarine 8kms.
Further details
The local area offers a variety of restaurants including on-site Italian cuisine of Salvatories, Sao Rafeal Beach restaurant ideal for fish lovers, the contemporary furnished Praia Grande restaurant renowned for its chateaubriand and sumptuous deserts, Chinese restaurant & take away plus many others. The Algarve shopping centre at Guia not only has many high street shops but also has a multi screen cinema complex (most films are in English with Portuguese sub-titles) plus a 10 Pin Bowling Alley. The local area also provides walker/ramblers the chance to explore coastal paths displaying magnificent cliffs and rock formations or simply walk along the sands at Gale beach that stretches some 3 or 4 for miles to Armacao de Pera.
