This ground floor apartment is fully air conditioned with two bedrooms, one with en suite, a second bathroom, fully fitted kitchen and large lounge/dining area with bed settee and sofa. Restaurants, bars and shops are within a 15 min walk. The beautiful island beach is accessed by a river taxi (60 cents) which takes 3 mins to cross the River Formosa. Cabanas have a number of shops, a chemist and bank and we are only 5 mins from Benamor Golf Club. A bus and train service runs daily from Cabanas. Cabanas is a fishing village situated 5 mins from the town of Tavira, 25 mins from the airport and Spanish border. We also have another similar apartment in the same complex. Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 is a double with en-suite and patio door to terrace overlooking pool and garden area.
Bedroom 2 is a twin room, also with patio door to terrace and overlooking pool and garden area.
Air-conditioning in both rooms.
Bathrooms: En-suite has a bath and shower, WC, bidet and wash basin. The bathroom has a shower, WC and wash basin.
Kitchen: A fully equipped kitchen with cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, iron and board and a full set of crockery, pans, cutlery and drinking vessels.
Utility Room: The washing machine and air-conditioning unit are in here. Cleaning equipment is also housed here.
Living Rooms: Two leather suites, one a double bed settee. A unit with a television and DVD player. There is a dining table and chairs. Patio doors lead to terrace which overlooks the pool and garden area. Access to pool via terrace.
Other: All doors and windows are fitted with lockable shutters. The shutters can be used as security and also to help keep rooms cool.

Notes on accommodation
Rooms are air-conditioned for the summer months and this can be used as heating during cooler times. Smoking and pets are prohibited. Ash trays are provided and guests are encouraged to use the terrace for smoking.

Accessibility
Access to apartment block via three steps leading to secured door before entering the lobby area. Enter the lobby area using a key or by using the intercom system linked to the apartment. Access to the rear of the apartment is one step only.

Outside
There is a terraced area which is accessible from the lounge, kitchen and both bedrooms. The terrace has table and chairs and overlooks the beautiful gardens and pool area providing an ideal place for outdoor eating and barbecues. The gardens and pool are shared.

Coast/Beach
A 15 minute walk takes you to the river front where you can take a river taxi (60 cents) over to the fabulous island beach which consists of over 3 km of unspoilt coastline. There are showers, WCs and a small cafe on the beach. Further along the coast there is Ilha de Tavira. A short boat trip across to the island, where there are numerous restaurants, a cash point and camping facilities, even a late night taxi service for those who like to party and barbecue late into the twilight hours.

Golf
This area is a must for golf fans of all levels and handicaps. Within a 5 minute walk there is the Benamor Golf Club. Par 71 with some of the best mountain and sea views the Algarve has to offer (a construction free course). A 5 minute drive takes you to Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima. These courses both par 72 and in excess of 6100 metres are situated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve providing an area where the only distraction to your golf will be nature. Castro Marim and Monte Rei are 15 minutes away and there are a total of 16 courses within 60 minutes drive.

Travel
Faro airport is a 30 minute drive, with easy to follow directions available. A pick up service is available on request. There are regular bus and train services within walking distance of the apartment. Car hire is recommended if you wish to explore the Algarve coast and countryside but not essential. Locally taxi's are available at a very low cost. In season a local train will take you to and from the village and beach crossing.

Distances
Airport 30 mins drive. Spanish border 20 mins drive to the East. The town of Tavira is 10 mins drive away and also accessible for cost of 1 euro on local train (station 4 mins walk). Taxi 7 euro's. Tavira is well worth a visit, as is the beach at Ilha de Tavira. Within a short drive of the apartment you will find many small villages with access to beautiful peaceful beaches (Praia d Barril, Fuseta, Mantarota, Verde and Monte Gordo, all worth a visit). Also lots of fabulous local restaurants.

Further details
Cabanas is an unspoilt village of narrow streets, a number of cafes, bars and restaurants, always with a welcoming atmosphere. There is a daily fish meat and vegetable market, several local mini markets, hardware stores, a chemist, local butchers and a post office. The nature reserve provides pleasant areas for those who like to walk and enjoy nature at its most peaceful. Bike hire, wind and kite surfing (hire and tuition) can be found in the village. Excursions are available with local departures to the water parks and zoo marine Leisure Park. The nearest town of Tavira is steeped in history and boasts 37 churches. The town is split by the River Gilao and an historical Roman Bridge connects both side.
