Lovely rebuilt farmhouse in the hills above Tavira. The family run property contains a large swimming pool, gym, bar, large Bar-b-que area with tables and chairs, fully equipped kitchen for the use of guests, laundry, small dining area, large gardens and outside seating area. Dogs are welcome but must stay in the kennels provided. There is no light pollution here so the stars really shine, we are just 35 mins from Faro airport and near to the main motorways with easy access to the Algarve and Spain. We are within easy reach of many excellent restaurants, bars, tabernas and attractions. There are several clean beaches and islands in close proximity, also there are several good diving spot for the brave of heart. Golf courses within a 20 mins drive. We recommend renting a car, but we are on a tarmac surface.

All rooms are decorated individually and have double beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs, kettles with tea and coffee provided daily, TV, DVD and CD Stereos. Two rooms have extra living space that can be used as extra sleeping area´s. All rooms are en-suite, 3 rooms with walk-in showers, toilets, sink and bidets, one with a bath, toilet, bidet and sink. The other with a shower cubicle, toilet, sink and bidet, all very individual and clean. The towels are changed daily.
The communal kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, grill, toaster, food processor and all other kitchen items. There is a traditional pizza/wood burner oven if you feel inclined.
There is now a Self contained Unit with double bedroom, en-suite, lounge area and kitchen.

 

Notes on accommodation
There is heating available in the rooms, fans if needed and portable air-conditioning units if necessary.
Pick-up and drop-off to the airport is provided on request, as is a meeting point for guidance. Private transport services is available if needed.
The Farmhouse is not very suitable for disabled persons or children, although they can be catered for with notice.
The host´s are very well informed about the Algarve, Portugal and close by Spain and are always on-hand to give advise or information to help you enjoy your holiday.
Cots and put-up beds are available.

Outside
The pool is deep and large containing 200,000 litres of water, waterbeds, noodles, and other equipment are plenty for those who like to take it easy in the water. The pool is shared between all 5 rooms, no outside persons allowed. There are 10 sunloungers and shade plus tables and chairs with shade, there is plenty of space around the pool for each individual.
The Barbecue area is large with a wonderful view of the countryside, there is a sink and all the equipment you need for a good grill up. The Bar is 5 paces from the Barbecue grill, so a cold drink will always be available. Outdoor tables and chairs are close. The indoor lounge next to the bar is also a nice place to read and relax.

Coast/Beach
There are stunning white sand beaches within an easy 15 minute drive from the farmhouse, most have a "blue flag" award and lifeguards, there are beaches that can only be reached by a nice little boat ride (water taxi) from Tavira to a local island, this boat is only a 10 minute drive from here, which just adds to the fun of the day. Manta Rota has a white sand beach with restaurants, bars and water sports. Its a 1hr 30m walk on the beach to Monte Gordo with its restaurants and bars.

Golf
There are very good golf courses in Conçeiçao-Cabanas Tavira, Caçela, Castro Marim and Vilamoura. All these are within an easy 15 to 40 minute drive from us.

Travel
Faro airport is approximately a 25 minute drive along the A22, Car hire is essential, although for those wishing to stay put we can pick up.

Distances
Santa Catarina is about 1.5km away, its a small local village with a Chemist, Post office, Bank and small shops. Tavira is the nearest town with many shops, hairdressers and spa, bars and restaurants, bus station, trains station, taxi´s, water taxi´s, Tavira has lots of historical sites and a lovely river running through. Faro is the main capital of the Algarve which is 25 minutes drive from here, where you can find everything you need, either for culture to just roaming around.

Further details
We are situated in the middle of Eastern Algarve with many easy to reach places in any direction. Evora, the capital of Alentejo is only a 2 hour drive away, Albufeira with its night-life and clubs is only 40 minutes away, and Vilamoura with its marina and golf is only 40 minutes also. Ayemonte (Spain) with its rustic old charm is only a 40 minute drive in the opposite directions from here. For those who wish to take in culture Seville (Spain) is only a 2 hour drive and well worth the time. We are very well situated and can give you all the information for getting around you may need.
