Accessibility
There is a ramp leading up to the main door of the apartment, ideal for pushchairs. There is a lift up the 2nd floor to the apartment, but no lift to the roof terrace.
Outside
There is a private parking space in the basement, as well as street parking directly in front of the apartment.
Coast/Beach
Alvor beach is ideal for families, it is a safe, clean and sandy beach which is only 10 minutes walk from the apartment. There are some lovely shallow and secluded coves ideal for swimming.
There are several beach cafes and restaurants along the beach.
A short 5 minute walk leads you to the attractive and well maintained harbour area, with cafes along the harbour front. The harbour is still fished by local fishermen.
Boat trips, dolphin sighting etc can also be booked here.
Golf
Ideally situated for golf courses, the closest are Alto Golf and Penina. The Boa Vista and Palmares are only a short drive away.
Travel
Faro airport is a 45 minute drive. Airport transfers can be arranged at approximately 50 Euros.
Local buses are frequent and reasonably priced. The taxi service is excellent in Alvor, with English speaking drivers and reasonable prices.
Distances
The small town of Portimao with a lovely harbour and local shops is 5 km. The town of Lagos with it's Marina, historic buildings and great shopping is approximately 18 km. Monchique, an old spa town in the mountains is approximately 30 minute drive and well worth a visit.
The newly built Algarve Formula 1 race track is 15 minutes drive away.
Trips and further information are all available at the local tourist information centre in Alvor.

A short 5 minute stroll will take you to the centre of Alvor, where you can enjoy the wonderfully relaxing and friendly atmosphere of locals and tourists. Alvor is known for it's laid back and home from home atmosphere.
Alvor has over 40 restaurants catering for all tastes, as well as bars with live music all within walking distance from the apartment. They are very well suited to families and extremely friendly and welcoming.
There is an excellent daily market where you can buy fresh fish and local produce, including roasted piri-piri chickens.
There is a good selection of shops, including supermarkets, gifts and clothes. There are 3 banks and lots of places to change money.
