Bedroom 1 has a safe. Cots and highchairs are available to hire, however we charge an extra £3 per item per day. Stairs to second bedroom are quite steep and may not be suitable for young children (under 5) or anyone who has difficulty in climbing up/down stairs. Coast/Beach
The extensive beach is 500m from the apartment and stretches for miles in either direction. Blue flag beach, great for swimming, clean and well maintained.
Golf
Various excellent golf courses 15-30 mins distance from apartment, for example: Vila Sol, Old Course, Pinhal, Laguna, Millennium Victoria, Vale do Lobo, Ocean, Royal, Pinheiros Altos, Quinta do Lago and San Lorenzo.
Travel
Faro airport 30 minutes by car or taxi (taxis cost €27-30 each way). Bus station 10 minutes walk. All amenities are within walking distance, but car hire can be recommended if you wish to explore the Algarve.
Distances
Faro 25 minutes - great shopping centre.
Loulé 15 minutes - great fish and fruit market.
Vilamoura 5 minutes - fabulous Marina with great nightlife and international restaurants.
Albufeira 30 minutes - beautiful beaches.
Algarve Shopping Centre 40 minutes - largest in algarve with many top stores and designer outlets
Portimao shopping centre 60 minutes drive.
Further details
Quarteira is renowned for reasonably priced restaurants and Algarve's biggest and most famous weekly market. A visit there on Wednesday morning is recommended. There is a great fresh fish and fruit market 5 minutes walk from the apartment. Water sports, fishing, scuba diving and boat trips are all available at the Vilamoura marina. Horse riding, go-carting, historical sights, vineyards and several water parks/theme parks are all located within a short drive of Quarteira. The Rio Formosa Natural Park is just south of Faro. The new Formula 1 circuit (Autodromo Internacional do Algarve) just north of Portimao is 60 minutes away. Just a few minutes from the apartment you will find a well stocked supermarket, bank, pharmacy, bars and restaurants and many more.
Booking notes
25% non refundable deposit payable on booking. Balance and security deposit of £150 to be paid 6 weeks prior to departure. Full payment with no refund if arrival date within 4 weeks of booking. Security deposit will be refundable 7 days after the end of the holiday subject to any deduction for loss/damage.
Cancellation charges:
Deposit will not be refunded at any time.
Cancellation within 2 weeks of arrival date only 50% of balance will be refunded. Booking form to be completed when booking.

Oct 2010 - great to be near vilamoura, but if you dont mind driving, silves, monchique and lagos make a nice tour. Alvor is a nice fishing village and Olhas d'agua has great rock pools
Apr 2011 - lovely apartment, handy to be so close to the pool, great location between the hustle of vilamoura and the portuguese quintness of quarteira
May 2011 - lovely apartment within reasonable walking distance of vilamoura marina, very much enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again in the future, have a go at the rocket power boat ride.
June 2011 - lovely, well equiped apartment, lots of lovely restaurants in vilamoura marina and on quarteira prom, we did the rocket power boat ride, excellent beaches near to the apartment
June 2011 - fantastic week, location was brilliant, not a cloud for 7 days, beach is superb, vilamoura within easy walking distance, the apartment is superb, the pool area is fantastic, would like to come back again.

About the owner
We live in Kent, both of us work and have no children unless you count the 2 cats!! We spent our first holiday together in the Algarve and the rest is history. This apartment is our first step in our retirement plans for living in Portugal (along with the Portuguese lessons we are starting soon).

What can we say - we love the area as it offers us both the high life of Vilamoura and the traditional life in Quarteira. Everything is within touching distance, the airport 25 minutes, the fish market 5 minutes and the long sandy beaches within 5 minutes.
Unique benefits of the property
The apartment is in a relaxing private condominium where most of the properties are owned by the Portuguese who tend to use them only at holiday times.
As the saying goes, there is something for everyone - long sandy beaches, bars & restaurants, spectacular marina ideal for people watching, water park and not forgetting the golf courses.
