Casa O Jardim is an attractively converted farmhouse, set in nearly 1 acres of privately owned orange groves. It is ideally situated for those who like to be away from the tourist developments but still within easy reach of all amenities. It is not overlooked and has lovely views of the surrounding hills. The gardens also have lemon and tangerine trees amongst the plentiful exotic and colourful plants. The apartment is part of a very large property. The other half of the property is let separately (see Property Reference P54). For very large parties (up to 24) the 2 properties may be booked as a whole.

Notes on prices
Prices are for property per week in UK Pounds.
1 week bookings at owner's discretion. Air-conditioning and heating in all bedrooms. Cots, high chairs and playpens at no extra charge. Price remains the same for 2010.

Changeover day
Saturday changeover. Arrivals after 3pm and departure by 9.30am. I will look after luggage if an early arrival and on departure day too if a late departure, also where possible i give access as soon as cleaning is finished, a staff of four on changeover.

Bedrooms: 3 double bedrooms.
1 twin bedroom which consists of a double bed and a single bed.
Bathrooms: All 4 bedrooms are en-suite. All rooms colour co-ordinated as are the bathrooms.
All bathrooms have hair driers.
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, food processor, sandwich toaster, fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board.
Living Rooms: Large sitting room with Satellite TV, video DVD player and radio radio. Separate dining room. One sofa bed.
Other: Beautifully furnished and decorated mainly designer fabrics all colour co ordinated, including china and top quality bed linens.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Maid service is 5 days per week for general cleaning. Linen and towels are provided, towel change twice a week and Saturday but please bring your own beach towels and cot linen.

 

Notes on accommodation
Surrounded by walls and high fencing makes the accomodation very safe and suitable for children, a short drive away are several disco's and Valedo Lobo which caters for the teenager, five minutes by car or taxi when in a fix my husband and I are on hand for transport. Go Karting is a five minute walk.

Accessibility
This property has been rented for a number of wheelchair clients with their families, we have access to a wheelchair carrier which accomodates several chairs and approx 6 people, also electric buggies for use around the property and on the local roads.

Outside
Patio terracing surrounds the large swimming pool which has lighting and a shallow end ladder. Pool is illuminated. There is also a toddler paddling pool and pool shower. The BBQ is beside the large, well lit pergola for al fresco dining. The pergola offers shade from the sun and the sun beds have colourful covers. The garden is illuminated at night.

Coast/Beach
5 minute drive. 10 minutes by bus.The beaches interlock into each other you arrive and within minutes have walked onto another locally named beach ie vale do Lobo leads on to Black Horse Beach and so on and so on.

Painting courses can be arranged as well as golf coaching from several locally based professionals. Riding available from four local stables one National Show Jumping Feration so top knotch tuition for jumping.

Travel
Airport: 15 minutes (Faro). Taxi transfers - people carriers where required - can be arranged.
Car Hire: Car hire is essential for the beach though there is a supermarket/bank and two restaurants/bars just metres away with the main town of Almancil within easy walking distance where there are many bars and restaurants to choose from. Taxis are also easily arranged. We can arrange car hire if required. I note many villa owners do not put the correct travelling time from airport, I certainly do.

Distances
Water sports 5 mins drive. Vilamoura Marina 10 mins drive a must at night. Zoo marine 25 mins, swim with dolphins facility, Go Karting 5 min walk, Silves Moorish Castle 45 mins drive, local markets within 10 mins drive.

Further details
The centre of Almancil with many banks, shops, bar, restaurant and the post office are only a few minutes away. The golden beaches, which are interlinked are a short drive away and everyone will enjoy the nearby waterslide parks. There are pleasant walks through the beachside pine trees, golf, horse riding, water sports and deep-sea fishing from Vilamoura marina. Apolonia supermarket is 100 yards away at the end of our quiet rural lane. Almancil has many excellent restaurants, some within walking distance. Our local bar "Poachers" is only 2 minutes away, serves good food and the landlord is English.

Nearby, Loulé town is famed for copper beating and leatherwork and the ancient castle, museums and the vegetable market are all worth a visit. The local open-air market day is Saturday.

Booking notes
25% deposit on booking with balance due 10 weeks prior to arrival. £300 breakage deposit payable with the final balance. There is satelite tv but not the full programme therefore no charge. there is a refundable charge of 20e for the control..yes they have been taken so I have to initiate..silly really but impossible to get another on changeover day...
