There is a cafe and restaurant within easy walk, and a sleepy traditional village 3 mins drive away offers a restaurant, post office, cash point, pharmacy, mini-markets, tavernas and cafes. It’s only 6 mins drive from beautiful medieval Tavira with its riverside restaurants, and several uncrowded golden sandy beaches. Quinta Serena has a wonderful tranquil countryside setting where you can completely relax.

2 charming timber-beamed bedrooms, sleeping 4 people. Both bedrooms are on the first floor, with wonderful views over the sub-tropical gardens. The master bedroom has a generous super-king size bed (180cm/ 6ft wide) and en-suite shower room. Twin bedded double room with en-suite shower room. The shower rooms are decorated with traditional hand-painted Portuguese tiles. There is a spacious well-equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, hob and microwave. The traditional timber-beamed living room and dining area is comfortably furnished. Patio doors open onto a covered terrace surrounded by sub-tropical plants, beside the swimming pool. |

Notes on accommodation

Both have patio doors which open onto a covered terrace where you can dine 'al fresco overlooking the swimming pool.

On day of arrival you may enter villa after 3pm, please vacate the villa by 10am on day of departure.

Quinta Serena stands on hillside with magnificent views of orange groves, vineyards and ancient olive trees.
Pool and Gardens:
Each house has a private palm-fringed swimming pool with either a sunbathing patio or deck. Palms, jasmine, mimosa, pepper and almond trees fringe the whole area. Each pool is approximately 6 x 3.5 metres, and may be floodlit at night. Barbecue, sun loungers, patio furniture, parasol and poolside shower are provided. Quinta Serena is the perfect place to relax and restore your spirits.
Coast/Beach
The Eastern Algarve is a beautiful unspoilt area, with miles of uncrowded golden beaches, ancient Moorish towns and picturesque villages.
Beaches in the Eastern Algarve are wide, sandy and safe for children, with the EC Blue Flag for cleanliness. The nearest beach is about 12 minutes drive from The Summer House. Refreshments and meals, sun-beds and parasols, are available on all local beaches. Particularly beautiful is Tavira Island which can be reached by a short ferry ride.

Three 18 hole Golf courses, within 10 minutes drive of Quinta Serena: Quinta da Ria, Quinta da Cima, and Benamor.

Only 30 minutes from Faro airport.
Flights to Faro Airport with eg EasyJet, British Airways, Monarch, Air 2000, TAP, Thompson-fly, etc.
Also good flight prices with Ryan Air from London Stansted to Seville. (Drive takes under 1.5 hrs, Seville to Quinta Serena)
Car hire is recommended to get the best out of the Eastern Algarve.

Medieval Tavira is 6 mins drive.
Nearby village of Santo Estevao is 3 mins drive.
Spanish border is 30 mins away, and Seville is 1.5 hours drive.

Tavira is a picturesque town, with narrow cobbled streets, beautiful riverside gardens, many restaurants, old palaces, castle ruins and ancient Roman bridge spanning a wide river. There is a large daily vegetable and fish market, a wide variety of small shops, and a good selection of river-side restaurants where you may eat alfresco.
During the summer evenings Tavira hosts many cultural activities - from the visiting national ballet, and classical concerts in one of Tavira’s ornate ancient churches, to local folk dancing under the stars in the central gardens by the river.
Local activities include: Boat trips, horse-riding, tennis, windsurfing, waterslide parks.
Spain is only 30 minutes away, and Seville can be reached in 1.5 hours drive.
