A four bedroom/three bathroom luxury villa on the Perola da Lagoa resort with own pool. The accommodation is beautifully decorated, in a contemporary style with high quality furniture. The golden sandy beaches are 10 mins walk or the towns of Foz da Arelho and Caldas da Rainha are less than 30 mins. Nearby Praia Del Rey is one of the top 20 golf courses in Europe, surfing beaches and the Obidos lagoon are also minutes away. There are lots of great local restaurants nearby. The medieval town of Obidos (10 mins) and its cobbled streets is a must see, as are the surfing beaches of Peniche (15 mins) you can catch a boat to the Berlenga islands and scuba dive. It's a great family holiday with tennis, golf, cycling, and surfing lessons available in the area for adults and children, or just relax by the pool or at the beach. The region is also great for golf breaks with not only Praia Del Rey (10 mins) but Bom Successo (5 mins) and Golden Eagle (25 mins) great tests for the discerning golfer.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is well equipped with all conveniences needed for a comfortable holiday. The kitchen is modern with every possible appliance and utensil. The central heating is very effective in the cooler months and the tiled floors keep the villa cool in the summer. For young families there is also a toddler fence to the swimming pool. There is a 32” flat screen TV with DVD player, and DVD'S are supplied in the lounge but please note there is no local/cable TV as yet. Some books and games are also available. There is gas central heating. Prices include gas and electricity. The house is strictly non-smoking.
Outside
Brick built Barbeque, table and benches plus four sun loungers. The garden is mainly laid to lawn. Private pool with toddler security fence. Views over the Lagoon and a quiet and peacful location.
Coast/Beach
The local beach stretches for miles in both directions and is excellent for sunbathing, walking and surfing. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk from our house to the beach and there are parking areas for beach access. The calm waters of the nearby Obidos lagoon are ideal for year round watersports and swimming for families. The lagoon is open to the sea but free from the Atlantic waves, making it an ideal location for beginners and experienced sailors and windsurfers.
Golf
Praia Del Rey - 10 Minutes - Top 20 in Europe and considered by many to be the best course in Portugal (2003 Peugeot Guide and 2007 Daily Telegraph). Designed by the American golf architect Cabell B. Robinson, who has incorporated the unspoiled natural beauty of the area and captured picturesque sea views. 4 holes are strung out along the edge of the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic
Bom Successo - 5 Minutes - Opened October 2008 and already considered one of the finest courses in the area. Truly stunning views over the Obidos Lagoon from the top end of the course.
Golden Eagle - 25 minutes - Fine course with friendly atmosphere, also a good test with several difficult water holes. There are many other fine courses within an hours drive.
Travel
Perola da Lagoa is an easy 1 hour drive from Lisbon airport (BA/Easyjet/Monarch/Air Portugal/BMI). BA/Air Portugal fly from heathrow/Gatwick. EasyJet now fly from Bristol/Liverpool/Gatwick and Luton. Monarch use Gatwick whilst Thomsonfly operate from Manchester. BMI fly from Birmingham. You can also arrive into Porto (Ryanair) which is about 2.5 hours drive from Perola. Car hire is essential. Simple directions from Lisbon Airport will be provided.
Distances
Ancient walled city of Obidos is approximately 6km from development with its beautiful old churches, interesting shops and wonderful restaurants. Peniche is approx 12 km also. Small village of Serra d'el Rey is 5 km.
The main market town of Caldas Da Rainha is 12km
There are several wonderful restaurants including the beach Restaurant Cortico's within 5km.
Further details
New Supermarket in Bom Sucesso resort, full of local produce (Called Friends) 5 minutes drive, plus small supermarket in Vau the nearby village, larger ones in Obidos, Peniche and Caldas da Rainha.
Caldas da Rainha, spa town with good shops and local market selling seasonal produce.
Peniche, fishing port with excellent restaurants. Seasonal water park.
Nazare: water park open from 1st June to end of September.
Obidos, picturesque medieval walled town with castle, good restaurants.
Praia Del Rei Golf clubhouse has bar, good restaurant and lovely terrace for sundowners. Takeaway menu available. The Marriott Hotel in complex has bar, restaurants and health spa.

About the owner
I am a married father of three. Being a London lad I always dreamed of a place in the sun but wanted to avoid the commercialism and noise of so many holiday destinations. We think we found it with Perola Da Lagoa, a beautiful quiet area but with great beaches (The Lagoon beach is fantastic), restaurants and relaxing sea or lagoon view bars in the area. I am also a golf nut and the games and Praia or Bom Sucesso are always great fun and when the wind blows very challenging. That aside my favourite times recently have been teaching my youngest (9) to swim in the pool and at the Lagoon. There is also plenty to do and explore in the surrounding villages and towns, plus world renown surfing and kite surfing areas are close by.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We were looking for a place in the sun for a long while but in Perola we found the balance of quality, location and space we were after. Quiet enough to have a relaxing holiday but only a short drive to any facilities we would want to enjoy. The lagoon beach is a delight and shallow and calm enough to relax and good for the youngsters. The restaurants are fantastic and even with the Euro rate still incredibly cheap. Obidos is one of the most beautiful towns you will ever visit and Praia golf course arguably the number one in Portugal but certainly in the top 5 in my view. Why wouldn't you buy in the area?
Unique benefits of the property
The property is furnished to my wife's standards and I am sure you will agree every home comfort is accommodated. The kitchen is fully equipped to the level of Garlic press and whisk, and the beds are of high quality (Hypnos) and very comfortable. The lounge is tastefully decorated and furnished and there is a 32" TV and DVD player but no access to local TV (just plays DVDs). Still you wouldn't go to a place like this to watch TV would you? Tranquility does have a price and you will need a car, but everything you will need is less than 5 minutes away - golf, shop, supermarket, restaurants and beaches.
