Changeover day
Normally Saturday, but flexible subject to other reservations (Except July, Aug and UK May Bank Holidays). Accommodation is usually available from 2pm on day of arrival and should be vacated by 10am. Alternative arrangements may be available on request.

Notes on accommodation
Travel cot and high chair can be supplied on request. Bring own cot bedding. Supervised children are welcome. The villa has stairs both inside and outside. The pool has a cover but is not enclosed and therefore easily accessible from the house. The villa is suitable for families or groups. The main bedroom can be used as a twin bedroom. Separate utility room could provided extra lockable storage for sports equipment, golf clubs etc. The villa interior is a non-smoking area.
Accessibility
Unfortunately the villa is not suitable for people with mobility problems due to internal and external staircases.
Outside
Small front garden with sunken terrace to Bed 3. Large terrace off lounge with views. Secluded ground floor pool terrace to rear. Both terraces are day long sun traps and provide two distinctly separate areas for dining and relaxing. A large parasol provides shade from the daylong sun which blesses the lounge terrace. The secluded pool area is tiled with potted plants, greenery, bougainvillea, contemporary lighting and pool loungers. Pool with heating available - approx size 5.5 x 3.5m. Approx max depths-according to water level; shallow end: 0.9m deep end: 1.6m. Plenty of shade available. Extensive external lighting (new electrical installation in 2008). Gas barbecue - gas provided. Sun loungers with cushions. 2 rattan tables and 8 chairs. Off road parking on drive to front. Sensor lighting to front door.
Coast/Beach
The villa is located within a 5 minute walk of the beautiful flat, soft sand beach of Praia da Luz (Blue Flag status) with its stunning cliffs, beach side cafes and shops and the main high street, bakery and supermarket. The quaint resort of Burgau and the historic town of Lagos are less then 10 minutes drive and the two mighty headlands of Cape St Vincent and Sagres are approx 25km. The wonderful beaches of the West Coast, popular with sunbathers and surfers alike are within 30 mins drive.
Golf
At the last count there were 22 golf complexes, 35 separate courses and over 585 widely differing holes to play along the south coast of the Algarve! The nearest golf complex is a 5 minute drive. Designed by Howard Swan, Boavista is a stunning golf course with panoramic views towards Praia da Luz & over Lagos Bay & beyond. The complex includes driving range, tennis, pools & fabulous spa with treatments, open to visitors at a reasonable price. Within 15/20 mins drive there is the interesting course of Palmares; idyllically set, with the majority of the holes on gentle slopes above the extensive beach stretching from Lagos marina to the mouth of the Alvor river & includes a sequence of five pure links holes. Also within that range are the Championship course of Penina, the challenging Parque de Floresta with spectacular views of the Atlantic & the courses of Mogado and nearby Alamos. The recently opened course designed by Nick Faldo at Amendoeira is 30mins drive.Truly a golfers paradise!
Travel

The villa is centrally located and everything is within walking distance, so car hire is not essential at the resort. There is a regular local bus service to Salema/Burgau and Lagos in winter and summer. However to truly experience the area, car hire during your stay is recommended.
Distances
5 mins drive to Boa Vista golf and spa complex. 10 mins drive to the historic town of Lagos and quaint fishing village of Burgau. 15 minutes to Salema, Palmares golf course, Parque de Floresta 20 mins to new 'Autodromo' racing circuit. 20-50 to Penina, Villamoura, Amondeiria, Quinta do Lobo and Quinta da Lago golf, beautiful Monchique, the historic town of Silves and water parks.
Further details
Praia da Luz has a number of local shops including Baptista supermarket (well stocked and orientated towards the tourist market with separate delicatessen take away and fresh fish counter) and a large 'Spa' supermarket with freshly cooked food/hot chicken takeaway counter. There is also a local bakery/patisserie/coffee shop just around the corner from the villa. Large supermarkets are also available in nearby Lagos. Also a number of banks with cash points, Doctors surgery (available for tourists use), local boutiques, jewellery shops and a wide range of take aways and restaurants to suit all tastes. A number of beach shops are located at the front and craft stalls open by the beach during High season and Bank holidays. Nearby Lagos has an extensive range of restaurants and bars located in the town and in the Marina, both the old town and marina are very pleasant places to meander during the day and evening. Shopping is well catered in Lagos with individual shops and the weekly local produce and daily fish market. The retail and commercial parks at Portimao and Guia (Algarve shopping centre) are 20 mins and 40 mins respectively. Typical Algarve holiday activities are all available locally or within a short drive including Lagos Zoo, walking, cycling, health and fitness centres and spas, Dolphin spotting and interaction, various boat charters, diving, deep sea fishing, off road motor sports, mountain biking and a variety of water sports such as wind surfing, surfing, body boarding, kayaking. There are water parks for children and the young at heart and the west coast of the Algarve offers excellent surfing conditions with the two best surfing beaches at Arnado and Arrifana. Cliff Richard's famous vineyard is located at Guia and there are numerous other resorts such as Praia da Rocha, Burgau, Albufeira and Carvoeiro all within easy driving distance.
