Edificio Porto Marina. Spacious second floor apartment in residential block, close to all amenities in the popular resort of Vilamoura. The property is equipped to the highest standard, with modern kitchen and bathroom. Two minutes to the marina, 10 minute walk to either of Vilamoura's two beaches, with a bank and newsagents just across the road from the building. The well stocked supermarket is a 6/7 minute walk. Ample car parking available.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week. Stays of 1 month or more from November to March enjoy a substantial reduction - telephone Neil for the rates for longer stays. Any price quoted for long stays will not include services, which will be payable locally on departure.

Changeover day
Bookings taken for a minimum of 1 week normally but shorter periods would be considered out of season or at short notice. Mid-week to mid-week bookings are perfectly acceptable. See 'Further details' for longer term lettings.

Bedrooms: The bedroom has twin beds, dressing table and stool, bedside tables and lights. There is a spacious fitted wardrobe containing a combination safe. A TV/DVD player is available if you just want to lie on the bed and relax to your favourite UK programme.
Bathrooms: Bathroom with bath/shower over, wc, bidet and washbasin. Electric shaver point.
Kitchen: New units in 2006 with granite worktops, ceramic hob with oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, electric kettle, toaster, small coffee filter, electric juicer - very well equipped with crockery, cutlery.
Living Rooms: Spacious lounge containing double sofa bed, chair which converts into a bed, dining table and four chairs, large unit which houses HD TV and a DVD player, CD/radio/cassette player. Satellite provides a host of UK channels, BBC, ITV plus Radios 1,2, etc.
Other: The unit in the lounge contains hanging/storage space for guests sleeping in there.

Towels and linen are included. Maid service and towel change mid-week for 1 week stays and at week-ends for longer stays to include bedding change.

Notes on accommodation
Ceiling fans have recently been installed in the lounge and bedroom. Kitchen completely modernised in Spring 2006.

Outside
Balcony overlooks the garden/swimming pool at the rear of the building, yet is quite private. It has the usual furniture with parasol. The pool area has plenty of shade and a large grassy area. There is a separate childrens pool.

Coast/Beach
It is only a 10 minute walk to either of Vilamoura's two beaches. Pleasant sea-front walk to the older resort of Quarteira, with its daily fish and fruit/vegetable market. Quarteira also has a large general outdoor market on a Wednesday.

Golf
Vilamoura has 6 golf courses within the resort, all of which are within easy reach.

Travel
Vilamoura is only 20 minutes by car from Faro airport. Taxi's, buses and car hire facilities are all in or around the arrivals hall.

Further details
Long term winter lets (November to March) available at special rates, but electricity and water charges will be payable, based on consumption, on departure.

Booking notes
Check the diary on the web-site in the first instance to establish availability. Then telephone or e-mail to ensure that there has been no last minute alteration. A deposit of 50% will be payable on booking, the balance being payable two weeks before departure. A refundable deposit of £50 (or 70 euros) will be payable with the final rental.

About the owner
Apartment owned jointly by Sue and Neil Collinson from Leicestershire, UK. Both now retired, Neil was in financial services and still does bookkeeping for a few people on a regular basis. Sue retired from teaching in August 2008 which means we are not restricted to school holidays any more when we decide we need some sun. We have 2 children who are both grown up and have left the nest.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We originally holidayed here in summer 2001, our first visit to Portugal. We loved its location, atmosphere, people and facilities. It is right in the centre of the Algarve and only a 20-25 minute drive from the airport. We returned in October that year to earnestly look for an apartment somewhere close to the marina which would be rentable, yet provide us with a bolthole. Having looked at a few we found this one which had only just come on to the market and never regretted it.

Unique benefits of the property
2 minutes to the marina (no taxi fares.) Swimming pool and bar on-site. 6 golf courses close by. 2 superb beaches within 10 minutes. Quarteira fish and veg. market a real bonus and 2 supermarche’s very close by. We have and will continue to improve the facilities within the apartment to make it a home from home for anyone who stays here.
