This is a ground floor apartment situated on the popular Oasis Parque Country Club development which has large outdoor and indoor swimming pools, tennis courts and children's play area. The country club is set within the small village of Chas das Donas and is in a very peaceful setting. There is also a cafe bar on-site and several good restaurants within walking distance. Portimao, Praia da Rocha and Alvor are nearby which have excellent beaches and a variety of good restaurants. There are bus services which operate to both locations and taxis are also very reasonable. There are numerous golf courses nearby and the Penina Championship Course is a stones throw away. We have a great water park at nearby Lagoa and Zoo Marine is approx 10 minutes away by car. Monchique, Silves, Lagos are just a few of the tourist attractions which are within easy reach of the apartment. Portimao retail park is within walking distance of the apartment and Continente supermarket is located here.

Changeover day
The changeover day is flexible. Arrival can be any time after 14.00 hrs and on the day of departure we would be grateful if guests could vacate the apartment by 10 am.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 has 2 twin beds plus an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Bedroom also has 2 twin beds. There is a pull down double sofa bed in the living room which has a proper interior sprung mattress. |

| Kitchen: | It is an eating kitchen with table and chairs provided. There is a cooker, hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave. There is also an electric kettle, toaster and food processor plus all necessary crockery and cutlery. |
| Living Rooms: | Lounge dining room. Includes TV plus Freeview box, DVD player, stereo. There is a pull down double sofa bed in living room with proper mattress. The dining table can sit 6 with 2 chairs taken from kitchen. |

Towels and linen are provided. These are changed on a weekly basis. The apartment can also be cleaned on a weekly basis or more frequent if required. Dependant on the length of the let a small charge could be made for this service. |

Notes on accommodation
The accommodation is fully air-conditioned which acts as a cooler in summer and as heating in the winter. The apartment if very suitable for children as it is on the ground floor with access to a secluded back garden. It has been very tastefully furnished and to a high standard. It is managed by a local person who is easily contactable in case of any problems. The property has access to on-site facilities such as a large outdoor and indoor pool (with jacuzzi), children's pool, 2 tennis courts and a children's play area. There is an excellent cafe bar which serves snacks in the daytime and also evening meals. The apartment is set within a block of three and the development is a mixture of apartments, detached and semi detached villas. The Management of the Country Club keep the development in pristine condition and the apartments have been finished to a high standard.
Accessibility
The apartment is on the ground floor and therefore suitable for wheelchair users. All the facilities on-site are on ground floor level and can be accessed by all.
Outside
The apartment has a secluded back garden which has been laid with artificial grass and pebbles. There is a garden table and chairs plus sun loungers. It is a great place to sunbathe or sit out in the daytime or evening. There is a barbecue available for guests. The garden has hedges to the right and left separating it from the neighbours. There is a large boulder wall at the end of the garden and you are not overlooked here as it is the grounds of the water tower which is laid out to shrubs and trees. The garden is therefore fairly secluded. It gets the sun from morning until late afternoon evening in the height of summer. There is a patio to the front of the apartment with a table and chairs. It is the perfect location for breakfast in the sun or for a relaxing morning seat.
Coast/Beach
Praia da Rocha Beach is only 5 minutes away by car. You could walk but it would take you approx 30-40 minutes. There is also a bus service available to this location. Alvor also has a tremendous stretch of beach and this is approx. 7 minutes away by car. At the east side of this beach there are some superb coves with excellent restaurants alongside. The rock formation here and at Praia da Rocha is quite amazing. There are also many quiet stretches of beach on the coast road to Lagos.
Golf
There are many excellent golf courses within a 15 minute drive away from the apartment. The nearest of course is the Penina Championship Course which is literally 5 mins away. Oasis Parque have a reciprocal agreement with Boa Vista Golf Course at Lagos and this is 15-20 minutes west on the Motorway and is a testing course. Between the apartment and Lagos nr to Oxiadere is the Palmares Course. As you head to Monchique there are 2 courses nearby Morgado and Alamos. Pestana Hotels in Alvor also have several course in the area - there is Vale de Pinta. Gramacho and Silves. Just outside Alvor there is Alto Golf. Driving east to Faro again and about 30 minutes away you have all the Villamoura Courses and just a little bit further the Qunta course plus San Lorenzo.
The apartment is a perfect location for golfers and there are agencies in Alvor, Lagos and Villamoura which will book your golf for you at much reduced prices. You can also get good deals by booking multiple rounds.
Travel
The local airport is Faro and there are many airlines which land here - Easyjet, BMI Baby, Ryanaire, Globespan and other European airlines as well as the holiday firms such as First Choice and Thomas Cook. We would advise the hire of a car to get to and from the airport and also for local use when at the apartment. However there is a bus which runs from the airport which would do a drop off at the Oasis Parque development.
Distances
The apartment is well situated for visiting places of interest in the Algarve. One of the main attractions is the mountain village of Monchique and it is approx 30-40 minutes drive from the apartment on a very much improved road. Another interesting town is Silves which is approx 15 minutes by car although you can catch a boat from Portimao to here. Lagos and further west to Sagres is another interesting trip. There are also lots of little villages to visit nearby such as Ferraguda.
Further details
There are two large supermarkets within walking distance, Continente in the Portimao Retail Park and Le Eclerc which is on the road to Portimao. The retail park has lots of other shops and restaurants plus banking facilities. Portimao is good for shopping, restaurants and banking. Alongside Portimao is Praia da Rocha and it has some superb restaurants both along the walkway and in the midst of the development. Alvor for restaurants and banking although it is basically a small fishing village which has not lost its character. There are excellent fish restaurants as well as cosmopolitan restaurants in the village and you can either eat at the waterfront or actually in the village itself.
If you wish to go further afield again Lagos is a mixture of old and new. There is a new marina where you can find numerous good restaurants or take a stroll around the old town and again there are many good restaurants to be recommended here. It is also a good shopping location. If you want to be adventurous take a drive up into the mountains and here you will be able to eat good food a lot more cheaply than in the main towns. Heading both east and west you will find many places of interest to stop and while away the hours. If you have children there are excellent water parks nearby and also Zoomarine. You will also if you head west find numerous secluded beaches. There are also boat trips to be made from both Portimao and Alvor and of course from many of the other Portuguese ports.
Booking notes
A 20% deposit is required to reserve a booking with the balance of payment due 10 weeks prior to departure. A holding deposit of £100 or euro equivalent is required which will be returned if everything is in order on departure. The money can be paid by cheque or by bank transfer.

About the owner
Doug and Heather Jolly. We are a Scottish couple who have been visiting Portugal for approximately 20 years. We are both really keen on golf and wanted somewhere which was near to some good golf courses. We did not wish to buy in a busy area and this was one of the reasons why we wanted to base ourselves near to Alvor which we feel still has that small fishing village atmosphere about it. We also like to eat out and there are some tremendous restaurants in the surrounding area. There are also some great beach walks around about and this is something which we both enjoy.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We liked the Area surrounding Alvor as it has something for everyone. It has great beaches nearby such as Praia da Rocha and Alvor. It also has some good golf courses such as Palmares, Boavista, Morgardo, Alamos plus the Pestana Hotel group courses and these are all within a 15-20 minute drive away from the apartment. If you like sightseeing then Monchique, Silves, Lagos and the Atlantic coast towns are within easy reach and give you a great day out. There are also some great eating places in the surrounding area and this in itself is a big bonus.
Unique benefits of the property
We like the fact that our apartment is in a complex contained within a small Portugese village. However there are large supermarkets nearby so you have never got to go far to replenish your stocks. Although we always take a car there is a regular bus service to both Portimao, Alvor and Praia da Rocha where there are fabulous beaches. The apartment is also just a 40 minute drive from the Airport on the motorway so is easy to get to. The complex is also a mix of detached, semi detached villas and apartments and it is kept in immaculate condition which is nice for us.
