This lovely country house is set on top of a hill within 30 acres of tranquil Alentejo countryside, surrounded by cork and umbrella pine trees. There are spectacular views stretching 20 km to enjoy during the day and fantastic clear skies for star gazing at night. The large terrace offers ample shade, a cooling breeze and a sparkling salt water pool to enjoy on long hot summer days. It is the perfect location to view the spectacular spring flowers or observe the abundant bird life - including storks and eagles. The house is comfortably furnished and fully equipped for easy living. When you venture out you will discover the pleasure of eating and drinking locally produced food and wine, the region is renowned for its wonderful pork. The unhurried pace of life, the friendliness of local people and the stunning beauty of the Alentejo will make this holiday an unforgettable experience.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible.

Notes on accommodation
There is a wood burning stove for heating in the winter and wood is provided. There is air conditioning in three of the bedrooms and the lounge which incurs an extra cost of £50 per week per room if required.
Accessibility
The owner of the house is a wheelchair user and the house is fully accessible. There is a hoist available on request to gain entry and exit the pool, it is simple and easy to use.
Outside
Outside you will find a large covered patio with dining table and chairs, sun terrace with sun loungers, hammocks and a charcoal BBQ. A swimming pool (4m x 10m) with easy access steps and a hoist if required. The pool is maintained once a week.
Coast/Beach
The fabulous west coach beaches are a 50 minute drive away. Much of the west coast is designated National Park and undeveloped. There are surf beaches, quiet protected river beaches for children, remote coves and cliff top walks.
Golf
There are many golf courses on the Algarve which is about an hours drive.
Travel
The nearest airport is Faro which is about a 75 minute drive away. Alternatively there is Lisbon which is a 2 hour drive. Car hire is essential, the house is 8km from Ourique, the nearest place to access public transport.
Distances
Ourique is just 8km away, a charming friendly town with supermarkets, shops, restaurants, health clinic and library. You can access the main train line between Lisbon and Faro at Funcheira about 10km away. Castro Verde, Almodovar, Beja, Evora and Mertola are just a few of the interesting towns and villages worth visiting for their Moorish castles, churches, roman ruins and local craft markets.

Booking can be made by phone, email or mail. A 20% non refundable deposit is required on booking. Full payment is required 8 weeks before departure. Bookings for longer than two weeks will be receive a 10% discount.
