A very peaceful location (on a plateau not the hills). Ideal for 'recharging the batteries'. The lane outside is quiet and peaceful. Lovely views. A large pool with shallow end and area are lit at night ensuring magical ambiance. A shaded games area with pool, ping pong. BBQ, Sat TV/ BBC/ITV/DVD. Plus Wi-Fi. A special place. Almost directly opposite Sir Cliff Richard's villa. Although peaceful and private it's only a 2 mins drive or a 15/20 mins stroll to Guia a traditional Portuguese village. A 10 mins drive to Albufeira and a 5 mins drive to the Algarve shopping centre. Five mins from some of the best beaches in the world. The main house may be occupied by family members (not rented separately) However we respect guests privacy and the pool area will never be crowded. Please see the videos on website.

Notes on accommodation
The pool is south facing and a real suntrap! This is smashing location with SAT.TV//DVD. Bedroom 1 with a large comfortable king size bed. Bedroom 2 with two comfortable twin beds. Both A/C heating. Modern kitchen. Sitting around the pool perhaps drinking a glass of wine and watching glorious sunsets with views over the valley/sea is very special. Almost a colonial feel. The Cottage is tucked away beside the Pine trees and is a lovely little getaway in the country. It has been designed to be cool in the summer and cosy and warm in the winter. Great for all year round lets. Beds are comfortable and not hard as some in Portugal. Privacy. Please note the Cottage will not be booked separate from the main house from 23rd July until 27th August. Please look at a video at www.pinetree-cottage.com before booking as it shows clearly what it is like here. Although not absolutely necessary car hire is highly recommended. Also discount for 2 people occupation (couple).
Accessibility
There is a slight slope from the main gate to the Cottage which may make it unsuitable for people with really severe mobility problems.
Outside
Situated down a sleepy quiet lane remarkable views over the valley/sea. The trees & shrubbery surrounding gives excellent privacy. A real suntrap. There are great walks from the house. From the front of the main house there are super views to the mountains/sea. This is really peaceful and relaxed and as such cannot be beaten and near to just about everything! The pool area is really great with super views over the valley. At night time the Pool and Pool area are lit which gives a real magical ambiance. The pool measures 10x5m with a shallow end, with steps, for children. Plus a super outdoor, shaded play area with a quality pool table and Table tennis. BBQ. The main house may be occupied by ourselves from time to time but the Pool/games area is very lightly used. In fact you'll almost certainly have it to yourselves for most of the time. All who have stayed here have had a wonderful time & all comments (not selected ones) are on our website.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is approx. 2 miles away at Gale. With it's three beach side restaurants in a wonderful location. However Albufeira beaches are almost as near. In fact there are numerous fantastic beaches within a very short drive with great beach bars. The beaches of the Algarve are amongst the best in the world. At Avaristo (5mins by car) there is a fantastic beach side restaurant in a most idyllic location being situated on a beautiful bay.
Golf
algados Golf club is only 10 mins drive away. There are also many excellent golf courses in the area and more being built!
Special interest holidays
If it is important to you when walking out of the main gate you walk into lovely countryside with fantastic views to the mountains and sea and not onto a main road with heavy traffic then this is for you. There are wonderful walks all around here. I am informed by a previous guest great for birdwatching. In fact the winters here are very mild. This is a great location for those enjoying nature as there a numerous species of flowers, shrubs and wild life which changes throughout the year. The village of Guia and the Lovely town of Albufeira are both close by. Great for long winter lets. Also there is a real value for money, fun 'Karting' circuit within 15 mins. drive for those who wish to wizz round a race track! This has to be one of the best situated villas in Portugal with pool.
Travel
Faro Airport is nearest. There are many flights from the UK all year round from most of the UK main airports. It is Approx. a 35 mins dive from the airport. Car Hire is very much recommended. It is an 11 hour drive from Santander and Bilbao in northern Spain. You can get there by ferry from Portsmouth (Bilbao) or Plymouth (Santander).
Distances
Guia village is 2 mins. By car or a short easy walk. Albufeira approx 10 mins by car. Old town absolutely wonderful and a must for all visitors! Algarve shopping centre. Cinemas, bowling alley. 5 mins zoo marine theme park, dolphins, sea life, 4d cinema, rides. Great day out for the family. 10 mins. Silves historic town castle. 30 mins. Night life 10-15 mins. We chose this position (after 27 years visiting living the Algarve) because it is central to nearly everything.
Further details
We have been holidaying/living in the Algarve for over 28yrs and love it here! We have visited just about everywhere, from the Spanish boarder to Sagres on the Atlantic coast. We chose this location as it cannot be beaten! It is easy to get to from the Airport, very near the super village of Guia. Shopping Centre very close. Only 10 mins. to the Motorway, Albufeira Old town nearby, Best beaches in the world within a short distance. Theme parks (especially Zoo Marine) not far either. Plus you will be on the ‘right’ quieter side of Albufeira and it's position cannot be beaten. There are banks, a mini market, chemist, post office, restaurants, bars in Guia. Guia is also the centre of the Universe for ‘Chicken Piri-Piri’ and is a real must for all who visit. Sir Cliffs Villa and Vineyards are just across the Lane. The village of Guia is a ‘Real place’ where both the local Portuguese and holidaymakers mix to make it a very special place. Zoo Marine is a great day out. The Dolphin show is great, as is the 4D Cinema and much, much more! Albufeira old town is 10 mins. away. It has real character with many bars, restaurants. The fisherman's beach is a must! There is also a Carting centre for those who wish to enjoy whizzing round a race track within a short distance, Great fun!

We have a son who is a budding song writer/singer having come second in the Algarve's 'Get Real' singing competition in 2009. Our daughter has just graduated from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh Scotland with a first class honours degree. She also received a silver medal for outstanding achievement. (she takes after Kate, my wife. If she took after me she'd have failed!) A tribute to sheer hard work!
