The Eastern Algarve remains an unspoilt part of Portugal, due to several Natural Parks/Reserves. One of them, Ria Formosa, is a very large lagoon complex protected by barrier-islands of a very thin and white sand. In it, Golden Clube is the most prime location in Cabanas, a traditional fisherman village built literally on one side of the lagoon adjacent to a spectacular island style beach, only accessed by private boat for guests only, all year long. In the resort, 3 pools (1 indoor with jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna), sports facilities and bicycle hire (a bike 'highway' in Algarve by the coast is now partially built). An excellent Kids Club runs from April to October. At Cabanas and Tavira, a multitude of leisure facilities are available, from gastronomy to culture (this area has been privileged by location and facilities with a history just partially written). Short drive to 5 top quality golf courses. Tavira received in May, 13th the "Qualitycoast" award.

Changeover day
On day of departure please vacate apartment by 12.00 hours and arrival is after 18:00 hours.

Notes on accommodation
Animals not allowed. Near Tavira there is a dogs hotel. Air-conditioning in living and bedroom, can be used for cooling in the summer and heating in the winter.
Accessibility
This is a first floor apartment and, at present, is accessed just by stairs (lift waiting for clearance). The building has 12 apartments only. Ample car parking is available outside the apartment building.
Outside
Resort facilities include (some may require a fee. Please contact resort reception - 24hr available for all guests using this apartment):
All year boat to the beach (free), restaurants and bars, adults and children's sports coordinated by professionals, children's house and park, supervised by Kids Club personnel (during summer)- at the moment free for guests, sports and other activities (2 outdoor swimming pools, 1 heated indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath, tennis court, mini golf, squash, gym, body building, aquagym, canoeing, bicycle rides, kitesurf, rock climbing, volleyball, boat promenade, maps for walk e bicycle rides, live music, especial nights).
Access to the main recreational area's of the complex is supervised (for residents/guests only).
Coast/Beach
4 min walking to resort boat, 2 min trip crossing the lagoon to Ilha de Cabanas and 100m to cross the island to sea front. Then, almost 20km of fine white/golden sand and warm, clean/unpolluted sea water. Or (same beach) 10-20 min drive west and park the car 10m to sea front. Lunch there and return late afternoon after sunset.
Golf
There are 8 superb golf courses nearby. Benamor 5.497 m, Par 71, 5 min drive - The course is laid out on mainly undulating land the course offers pleasant views; Colina Verde 9 holes, 1.145m, Par 28, 10 min drive - to improve the short game or develop more confidence for a recent starter. Quinta da Ria 6.053m, Par 72, 10 min drive - A 475 meter par-5 hole sets the tone of the course. The back nine takes the player close to the beach and the panoramic sea views. Quinta da Cima 6.586m, Par 72, 10 min drive - is of a Championship character, an enjoyable challenge for most players. Castro Marim 5.265m, Par 71, 20 min drive - calls for careful play with strategically placed water hazards and fairway terrain. Monte Rei 6.567m, Par 72, 15 min drive - outstanding signature course by Jack Nicklaus offers everything a player would expect. Quinta do Vale 6.206m, Par 72, 25 min drive - take advantage of charming natural setting lying next to the River Guadiana. The Algarve has other 28 courses.
Travel
Faro airport (30km) is 30 mins drive. Seville Airport (140km) 90 min drive by motorway. Bus services 10 min walking. Train station in Conceicao (1.5km). Spain is a short train and ferry ride away or 20 mins drive. Car and bicycle hire is available in the resort. Car not essential, but recommended.

Return year after year to Algarve is very common for diversity, points of interest, temperate clime, gastronomy, wine and friendly people. The mountain’s interior (barrocal) still untouched, eastern Algarve with kms of peaceful white sand beaches and places, Western Algarve with intensive live and exciting water parks.
