Notes on accommodation
This beautiful Alto Golf Villa is set out over 3 spacious levels.
Access is gained via a gated entrance drive way up to the villa's entrance overlooking the garden and private pool, this cobbled driveway continues to the underground garage. Security and privacy was thoughtfully designed within its layout.
On entering the villa you are immediately struck by the tasteful décor indicating that a high standard has been set by the owners.
Outside
The Alto Country Club is set in 18 acres of tropical gardens, waterfalls and ornamental pools overlooking the beach. Its facilities include large swimming pool, children's pool, indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, gym, beauty salon, floodlit tennis courts, children's play area, kids club, clubroom, beach sun bed area, restaurants and bars. Residents at the villa have the full use of all Alto Golf and Country Club facilities. You can relax around Alto's outdoor pool, with a cocktail from The Rum Shack, Alto's very own Caribbean Rum Shack themed poolside bar, work out in the gymnasium, have a quiet game of tennis, swim lengths in the indoor pool or simply wander around the beautiful gardens. There is a choice of two restaurants for you at the country club; Cottons Restaurant for an a-la-carte dining experience, flambé dishes a specialty, and the less formal Douro Bar and Grill, themed around the famed Northern Portuguese wine and port region. All within the boundaries of Alto club.
Coast/Beach
Set in the grounds of Alto Club the villa is conveniently placed.
A short walk from the private gates of the Alto Country Club is Alvor and a 3 mile stretch of sandy beach. This Portuguese village has many bars, restaurants and shops that can be found nestled within its narrow streets.
2km away is Praia da Rocha, which serves as the large coastal town, set looking out onto the beaches its cliff tops are lined with restaurants, shops, bars and clubs.
Golf
Residents automatically become members of the exclusive Alto Golf and Country Club and have the full use of all its facilities. The villa is placed within a stones throw distance of Alto's Golfing fairways. This exclusive 18 hole - par 72 golf course was designed by Sir Henry Cotton and boasts one of the longest par 5's in Europe. At 604 meters, it requires three long and accurate shots to avoid the lake, hold the angled fairway and find the small, well protected green. Set across two spectacular valleys overlooking the beautiful bay of Lagos this wonderful course is the pride of the Alto complex. The Alto Club House is positioned looking out over the 18th green and includes a Pro shop, excellent changing facilities, restaurant and bar, there is an excellent golf academy with tuition available from the resident PGA professional. Practice areas include tiered tees, practice bunker, putting green and driving range. Residents receive 30% discounted green fees (may be subject to change).
Special interest holidays
Floodlight tennis courts, scuba diving, surfing, wind & kite surfing, riding, fishing, cycling, sailing, to mention but a few and when the kids have tried all these there are still water parks, jeep safari’s and Zoo marine world.
Travel
Faro airport 45 mins. recommended car hire which can be arranged on your behalf at competitive rates. Directions from airport can be downloaded from owners website.
Distances
Just 2km to beach, 2km Alvor Centre, 2km Praia da Rocha or Portimao and 1km to bars/restaurants and local shop.
Further details
A short drive away from the villa towards inland will take you up high into the mountain area and the unspoilt town of Monchique, market stalls and coffee shops are reached by spectacular views around these winding roads passing donkey and cart this part of Portugal is steeped with history which makes this a rewarding visit.
In all, this part of the Algarve treats you with all that is needed for a wonderful stay.

Having just spent a week in this property I would recommend this Villa as being a perfect property matching the description given by the owner. The standard set is very high, decor, fittings and fixtures, bed linen and towels exactly as one would expect at home. Very good restaurant within walking distance. The club offers indoor and outdoor pools although the Villa pool is all you would need if you wish to spend the day at the Villa. I would certainly recommend this property to friends and family and would have no hesitation in returning with my family.

I stayed for two weeks with my family and had a fantastic time. Great location with some great restaurants and attractions near by. The villa is very spacious, clean and modern. Perfect for my family - especially the pool. Really well maintained and thoroughly recommended.

A family owned villa, in our opinion located in one of the best parts of the Algarve where we never seem to get bored of visiting. We have hand picked all the furnishing ourselves to create our dream holiday homes and have happily shared this with guests over the season.
