Very spacious one bedroom apartment located in Quinta Da Gomeira development with very large lounge and fully equipped separate kitchen. Air conditioning/heating throughout, purpose built children's play area on site. The Eastern Algarve remains unspoilt, has a range of championship golf courses and is a popular choice with families and golfers alike. The village of Cabanas is a traditional fishing village located on the Ria Formosa which is a designated Nature Reserve, the beach is 5kms of pristine white sand and is reached by a 1 minute ferry boat ride across the lagoon (€1 return). The picturesque town of Tavira is 4kms away with wonderful shopping and restaurants and can be reached by equally cheap bus or taxi. 15kms to the east is the town of Villa Real Sta Antonio which borders Spain is well worth a visit and can be reached by bus, train or taxi.

Changeover day
We ask guests to vacate apartment before 10am on day of departure to facilitate cleaning. We are flexible on change over days to suit your flights and afternoon checkout possible by prior arrangement.

Bedrooms: Main bedroom is equipped with double bed, bedside lockers and large built in wardrobe. Air conditioning/heating. Ceiling mounted fan. Pool view. Hairdryer.
Bathrooms: One main family bathroom equipped with hand basin, shower, bath, wc and bidet.
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, large fridge freezer, hob, oven and microwave oven, toaster and electric kettle.
Living Rooms: Large lounge with large double sofa bed, 2 easy chairs, dining table with 4 chairs, TV, DVD, PlayStation2, selection of PS2 games and DVDs. Occasional tables, air-conditioning/heating. Ceiling mounted fan.

All bedlinen and towels are provided along with a weekly linen and towel change service. Please note: Towels are provided for use in the apartment only. We do not provide towels for poolside or beach use.

Separate air conditioning for lounge and bedroom. Ground floor location very safe for children, intercom access.

Accessibility
Apartment is accessed by 3 steps so may not be accessible for wheelchair users or persons with restricted mobility but all one level once inside.

Access to four gated full size swimming pools and gardens with swipe card.
Small west facing balcony.

Coast/Beach
Cabanas beach has miles of pristine white sands reached by a 1 minute boat ride across a lagoon.

Golf
This apartment is 2 minutes drive from Benamor Golf Resort and 10 mins drive from numerous championship golf courses.

Travel
Faro airport is a 30 minute drive. Car hire is not necessary but if you want to explore the eastern Algarve car hire is available in the village.

Distances
Tavira is 4 kms away and can be reached by train, bus or very reasonable taxi. train station is located beside level crossing on way in to Cabanas and is a 5-6 minute walk away.
Villa Real Sta Antonio is 15 kms to the east and can be reached by train, bus or taxi.

Further details
There are plenty of restaurants in Cabanas, we would highly recommend the "Cabanas Brasserie" located 50 metres from apartment and just beside church, this restaurant is run by Fernando and wife Gill who provide an excellent variety of dishes and the daily specials really are special! There 3 supermarkets in Cabanas, plenty of restaurants and a couple of bars. 2 ATM's. There are a couple of newsagents located at either end of the riverfront selling most European newspapers(Irish, English, Dutch, German etc). A post office is located on the seafront close to the fresh produce market which sells fresh fruit and veg, fresh fish and also has a butchers located in it.
If you plan on self catering this is the place to shop every morning.

Booking notes
Please note, it can take 1-2 hours for your initial enquiry to reach owners email address, if you need a fast response please text/SMS to the owners phone number. A non refundable deposit of 20% is required when booking your stay with the balance due 6 weeks before arrival. A small security deposit is required, Bank Transfer accepted. Late bookings are accepted with full payment. Long term and winter lets available.

About the owner
We are an Irish couple living and working in Dublin who have fallen in love with Portugal and with the Eastern Algarve in particular. We hope to retire eventually to the area but we're a bit away from retirement age just yet!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We have been holidaying in Cabanas since 2003 and just love the people and their laid back relaxed nature. Great range of restaurants although we have our favourite one! Its just a completely stress free zone.
