Covas is situated approx 20 minutes from the Spanish border and the old town of Villa Nova De Cerveira. 25 minutes from Camhinia and its pristine white sand beaches. Across the border is northern Spain’s Galician region which is steeped in history with wonderful seafood and tapas. Our property was fully restored in 2007 and sits in 1.5 acres of private gardens. The Old Stillery contains 1 double bedroom, en-suite shower room, a large kitchen living area with a sofabed. Next door is the old quinta believed to be 300 plus years old which contains a large en-suite double bedroom. Please note that the owners do live on-site in a separate property, but we would like you to look upon this as an advantage!

Changeover day
Changeover day can be flexible but we would ask guests to leave before 10.30am and arrive after 2pm to allow for cleaning etc.
Accommodation

| Bathrooms: | 2 en-suite bathrooms both with showers, wc and wash basins. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is fully equipped and also contains cooker, gas hob, washing machine and microwave. |
| Living Rooms: | The living area contains a dining area, a comfortable sitting area including a double sofabed. There is also a woodburning stove, satellite TV in both cottages and wireless broadband available. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Linen and towels are provided, this does not include beach towels which are not supplied. The cottages are cleaned and the linen changed once a week. |
Notes on accommodation
Both cottages have central heating. We provide room fans if needed. Children are welcome but please be aware the pool is not fenced and we have open terraces. We are also happy to accomodate well behaved pets.We do have a well behaved dog and a cat on site.

Accessibility
From the parking area to the property there are a number of small steps which might make it difficult for wheelchair users, and people suffering from mobility problems.
Outside
The property is surrounded by a mixed landscape of lawn, shrubs and mature trees. The Stillery has a stone patio area with seating for 6 and a gas BBQ. The area is covered by grape vines providing much needed shade during the day. There is full use of a large 12x6m swimming pool, which during the summer months keeps an average 26 degrees c, but please be aware that it is occasionally shared by us as a family ( we have 2 small girls ).
Coast/Beach
25 minutes drive away are pristine, white sand beaches.
Golf
There is an 18-hole golf course in the nearby town of Ponta de Lima a 30 mins drive.
Special interest holidays
Waterskiing and kyaking is available through us on the local river Minho, please ask for further details.
Travel
International airports include Porto (1 1/4 hours drive), Vigo (1 hour drive) and Santiago (2 hours drive).
Car hire is essential.
Distances
Villa Nova de Cerveira and Camhinia are a short 20-25 mins drive. The historical Ponta de Lima and Viana Do Castello 30-45 mins drive. All have local markets and a good selection of shops, banks, cafes and restaurants.
Further details
Covas enjoys a well stocked mini supermarket, post office, cash point and 4 family run restaurant/bars serving good quality traditional food. In Villa Nova de Cerveira you will find a good supermarket, shops, banks, and a large number of cafes/restaurants the majority of which are situated around the old square. It holds a large regular Saturday market where you can buy almost anything!

Bookings can be made by phone or email. 25% non-refundable deposit required at the time of booking, the balance to be paid 4 weeks before arrival. We will accept uk sterling or euros, by bank transfer or cheque. Please make sure you are fully insured and covered against injury, sickness, cancellation, losses etc, as we cannot accept liability for any loss or damage to you're personal property or for any illness or injury that may develop during you're stay with us.
