The second even larger terrace at the back is also secluded and benefits from the sun almost all day. The condominium is safe and secluded, completely walled in with video entry and has an indoor parking with RC-gate. All facilities within walking distance, Beach/Golf/Marina minutes away and Ferragudo with her narrow cobbled streets packed with shops, cafes and restaurants on your doorstep.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in Euros. Discounted long-term winter lets available. In that case electricity will be metered and charged separately and unlimited wireless internet-access can be made available.

Changeover day
Friday is the preferred changeover day but we can be flexible if necessary. The apartment will be available from 2pm on arrival and should be vacated by 10am on day of departure. We will try to accommodate any reasonable variations on these timings.

Bedrooms: The suite comprises an air conditioned master-bedroom with double bed, en-suite bathroom and fitted wardrobe with safe. The 2nd air-conditioned bedroom has 2 single beds and a fitted wardrobe. The 3rd large bedroom also has 2 single beds with wardrobe.
Bathrooms: The spacious en-suite master bathroom has a bath, shower, double washbasin, bidet and toilet.
The second family sized bathroom also has a bath, shower, double washbasin, bidet and toilet. A hairdryer is been provided for your convenience.
Kitchen: The spacious, modern and fully equipped kitchen has (integrated) appliances with large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, hob, oven, microwave, electric water boiler, coffee maker, etc.
Utility Room: Of course a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board have also been provided for your convenience.
Living Rooms: The spacious comfortable lounge/dining with fireplace has a large leather couch and chair, dining table, LCD TV, sat-receiver, DVD and CD/sound system. The living has 2 large patio doors which open onto your balcony overlooking the charming harbour.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Of course you will be provided with comfortable bed linen and plenty towels, which will be changed weekly. You only have to bring your own beach towels. Maid service is provided once a week.

 

Notes on accommodation
Your suite is never too hot in summer but has air conditioning in the master and guest bedroom and underfloor heating throughout for your comfort during the winter evenings. For your peace of mind smoke alarms and fire extinguishers are fitted in the kitchen, living area and all bedrooms.

Accessibility
The condominium is very safe and secluded, completely walled in with video entry and has an indoor parking lot with remote controlled gate. The elevator is wheelchair accessible and will take you to the floor where there is easy access to the apartment. The apartment is all on 1 level and as it has an open plan living space, there is easy access to all the rooms and the kitchen. However please note that the bathrooms are not adapted for disabled guests.

Outside
The suite's large and secluded south facing balcony is a wonderful spot for sunbathing, dining or simply relaxing, sipping a drink, whilst watching the old fishermen trading tales from the high seas on "The Square" or bringing home their catch of the day. It is very private, benefits from the sun from early-morning until late afternoon and is equipped with wooden outdoor table and chairs. The second and even larger terrace at the back of the apartment is completely walled-in and therefore ideal as a children’s playground. It benefits from the sun from early-morning almost all day long. There is a children’s playground just across the street. Furthermore the apartment comprises an indoor parking lot, elevator, RC- gate and video entry.

Coast/Beach
The beaches around Ferragudo are amongst the most beautiful in the Algarve. You’ll find the nearest beach (Praia Angrinha) next to the rather amazing fort of Sao Joao de Arade. Within a 5-10 mins drive/walk are other family friendly beaches such as Praia Grande (our favorite) and Praia do Pintadinho. They are worth exploring, either by car or by foot. You'll find signposts for the beaches and several bar-restaurants as you travel around in case you want to stop for a drink or something to eat.

Golf
In the area of Ferragudo you will find one of the longest golf courses in the region, the Morgado golf course. This 18-hole course has a 5 Par 5 Holes, 9 Par 4s and 4 Par 3s. The 18-holes Alamos golf course opened just recently which makes it one of the newest in the Algarve. Just 10 minutes drive from the apartment is the famous Penina course, this is the master work of legendary golfer Henry Cotton and was the first course to grace the Algarve. This Championship course, 5 times host to the Portuguese Open, is an 18 hole par 73. There are more excellent golf courses nearby with two more courses due to be opened in September 2008. One course has been designed by Nick Faldo and the other by Christy O'connor Jnr. so new challenges to conquer! You won't miss out if tennis is your game either as there is Carvoeiro Clube de Ténis at Sesmarias which is conveniently positioned between Ferragudo and Carvoeiro (10 mins).

Travel
The nearest airport is Faro at around 60km. One can reach Ferragudo by motorway from Faro in about 40 mins. Although car hire is not necessary as both town and beach are within easy walking distance, a car is recommended, as there is so much to see and do in the Algarve. We employ the services of a reputable local company for both car hire and reliable airport transfers. Please email us with your requirements.

Distances
There is a children’s playground just across the street, and an international bank (cash-machine) within the condominium. 5 mins drive from the apartment you’ll find 2 good supermarkets where you’ll find everything you need. There are lots of places to explore close to hand. The historic town of Silves really is worth a look (20 mins), the centre of Carvoeiro, a popular family holiday village is 15 mins away and don't miss Lagos, one of the most attractive towns in the Algarve (20 mins).

Further details
Ferragudo on your doorstep can be described as "the real Portugal" and has actually been tipped to be one of the Algarve’s new hot spots! (algarveuncovered.com). One of the last remaining unspoilt fishing villages, Ferragudo enjoys all the traditions that the Algarve has to offer. Behind the Square in Ferragudo, 1 minute walk from your suite, lies a labyrinth of old cobbled alleyways, packed with traditional and modern shops, where you’ll find cafes, restaurants and bars catering for all tastes. Whether sitting having a drink on your balcony whilst watching the fishermen’s activities, or simply relaxing on the un-crowded golden beaches, Ferragudo offers a peaceful haven from the stresses of modern life. At night the old town comes alive with occasionally open-air entertainment.

A selection of fine seafood restaurants line the Ferragudo harbour front often visited by the rich and famous who moor up their boats in the harbour and "pop in" for a spot of lunch. Here you can watch your chosen seafood prepared and cooked on an open barbeque whilst watching the local fishermen bringing home their catch of the day. These restaurants are situated in a super position to sit and watch the beautiful evening sunset over Portimao whilst enjoying a glass of chilled local wine.

If all that isn't enough to keep you busy then there are lots of fun activities that will keep families of all ages entertained close to hand. The calm waters of the river are particularly good for windsurfing and other water sports. The water park, Slide and Splash, is in Lagoa - just 10min away and Zoomarine near Albufeira isn't far either (20min). It has outdoor pools as well as the dolphins, sea-lions and birds of prey shows. Portimão Marina < 15 min by foot+water-taxi leaving from the Ferragudo harbour front (or 15 min by car). It then is a 5 min walk into Praia da Rocha a bustling holiday resort in its own right with a fantastic beach, plenty of places to wine and dine or party until late.

Booking notes
A deposit of 30% of the total cost of your accommodation is due at the time of booking. The remainder is due 8 weeks before your arrival date. Bookings made within 8 weeks of the start of your holiday must be paid for in full at the time of booking. A security deposit of £80 will be required with final payment. This will be returned within a fortnight of departure from the property. All clients agree to report any damage to the property or its contents as soon as possible during their stay.
