Our house overlooks a large olive grove and meadow with a 150m stretch of river at the bottom of the garden. We are just 2 minutes from Penela with its imposing castle, shops and restaurants. The village has easy road links to Coimbra to the north and cultural Tomar to the south. The historic Roman ruins site of Conimbriga is 15 minutes away and the holy city of Fatima under 1 hour.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros. We can accept short stays at a minimum of three nights - price depending on time of the year. Discounts for longer lets are also negotiable. Please get in touch with your requirments.
Changeover day
We can be flexible about dates and times of arrival and departure. Just contact us with your requirements.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with 2 single beds, en-suite and sliding doors opening on to the pool terrace (downstairs). Bedroom 2 and 3 with twin beds (upstairs). |
| Bathrooms: | The downstairs shower room has a WC, bidet and wash basin. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen area includes a modern halogen hob with extractor, microwave with oven features and large fridge/freezer. |
| Living Rooms: | The living area has sliding doors opening on to the pool, a four seater sofa and a further 2 seater. Flat screen TV and DVD player with selection of films and books supplied. |
| Other: | A mezzanine landing between the upstairs bedrooms has a large armchair with bookcase, coffee table and selection of books. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels (included) are changed every 2 days and linen (included) each week. Beach towels for poolside are also included. Laundry service also available if required (no ironing). Final cleaning charge of 75 euros. |

Accessibility
The drive to the accommodation slopes downwards from the private parking area and there are no steps into the house.
Outside
A barbecue and 6 sun loungers are around the 8x4m private pool with steps leading into the shallow end. Maximum depth is 1.5m pool with exit steps. There are 6 chairs and large table.
Coast/Beach
Portugal's fabulous 'Silver Coast' has huge deserted beaches and is a pleasant 45 minute drive away through authentic towns and villages - the real Portugal.
Travel
Ryanair run cheap flights to Porto. The drive from Porto airport - very modern and easy to negotiate - is around 1½ hour. Lisbon is the same distance away.
Distances
The nearest bar and restaurant is 5 mins walk, serving authentic and extremely cheap food and wine. Penela has all amenities (shops, banks, chemists, restaurants) and is 2 minutes drive or a walk through the hills taking half an hour. Espinhal is also 5 mins away with a typical local flavour.
Further details
Larger supermarkets like the Intermarche chain are located in Mirandha do Corvo 20 mins. Condeixa 20 mis and the bustling town of Pombal 30 mins. Prices are extremely reasonable for fresh fish and meat and a huge choice of familiar branded products. Pombal also boasts a water park overlooking the town.
The university riverside city of Coimbra is spectacular and is 30 mins away with its royal palace dominating the centre with shops, small alleyways and historic sites. Coimbra's 'Forum' centre has everything for the shopaholic!
