Vale do Garrao is ideally situated midway between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago, being just 2km from each and only a 10 minute walk (800m) from the beautiful sandy beaches of Ancao and Garrao. The resort is set in over 70 acres of African pine forest and orange groves that run gently down to a magnificent beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Completely renovated to a high specification over a six month period and finished in April 2008, our second home has been fully upgraded to modern standards, whilst retaining a comfortable and homely, Portuguese influence. Totally re-plumbed, re-wired, new bathrooms, kitchen, appliances, furnishings and fully re-decorated and tiled, we’re sure you'll agree we have created a five star home. We’ve also added an external Hot Tub/Jacuzzi with decking and a barbeque area to enhance the private outdoor space. Within a five minute walk there is a large communal swimming pool, snack bar, tennis courts, spa, gym and a small park with kiddies playground.

A minimum rental period of 7 nights applies for bookings between 12 Jul to 5 Sep and Xmas.
All other dates a 3 night minimum stay is required.

Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible, but, during High Season it is most likely to be Saturday, the house must be vacated by 10:30am on the day of departure during High Season.

Seating for 6 at the dining table and 8 in the lounge.
Large screen T.V., D.V.D., Video and C.D., Cassette and Radio.
Cooling fans are provided.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and bed linen are provided and are changed twice a week, there are also some beach towels that are changed weekly.
Cleaning is weekly.

 

Notes on accommodation
There are a selection of Board Games, Videos and DVD's provided, these can be found in the dining room Dresser or storage tower in the lounge.
The garden area is very secure and a small playground and park area can be found a few minutes walk away, making it suitable for children of all ages.
All the bedrooms have balconies;
Bedroom 1 balcony has 2 chairs a small table and clothes drying rack.
Bedroom 2 balcony has 3 chairs, a table, sun lounger and clothes drying rack.
All the bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning units and have electric heaters.

Accessibility
Unfortunately this property is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
Outside there is a Hot Tub / Jacuzzi that can hold 5 to 6 people, a shower, a sun deck with 4 sun loungers and a barbeque area with terrace that has a table, 6 chairs and parasol.
Within a five minute walk there is a large communal swimming pool, snack bar, tennis courts, spa, gym and a small park with kiddies playground.

Coast/Beach
At 800m (a 10 min walk) away, the nearby coastline is spectacular with a number of excellent restaurants at the Garrao “Blue Flag” beach, a variety of water sport activities and sun lounger hire are also available here.
Go west along the beach and you're only a 30 minute stroll away from The Praca (prassa) at Vale do Lobo with its’ numerous restaurants, bars and cafes, there is also a newsagent, a Children's Club and a Crazy Golf course.
During the summer there is free nightly entertainment.

Golf
The golf courses of Quinta do Lago (2 x 18), Pinheiros Altos (27 holes), Vale do Lobo (2 x 18), Sao Lourenco (San Lorenzo) and Villa Sol (27 holes) are all within a 5-10 minute drive and the six Villamoura courses are only 15 minutes by car.
My personal favourites, in descending order, are:
Monte Rei (this is a 45 minute drive toward Tavira), San Lorenzo, Quinta do Lago (South), Vale do Lobo (Ocean), Villamoura (The Old Course).
I have details of a local booking agent who is very good and savings of up to 50% can be achieved on some courses.
There is also a good driving range at Quinta do Lago (5 mins by car).
There are over 30 excellent golf courses within a 45 minute drive of Vale do Garrao.

Travel
Car hire is highly recommended to get the most out of your stay on the Algarve.
Faro airport is approx' 18Km. - a 15 to 20 minute drive.

Faro 16km.
Loule 10km.
Vilamoura 9km.
Portimao 30Km.
Lisbon (2.5 Hours on a relatively quiet motorway)

Further details
A bank, restaurants, supermarket, newsagent and designer clothes shops can be found at "Quinta Shopping - Bougainvilla Plaza" which is 3 Km. away.
Almancil (4Km.) also has a good selection of shops including a couple of large supermarkets (Apalonia & Aldi)
Val Do Lobo (2Km.) has its' "Prassa", 2 Golf Courses and a Tennis Centre.
Halfway to Almancil at about 2Km. there is an excellent Go-Kart track.
Horse riding can be arranged at "Pinetrees Stables" only 1Km. away.
Aquashow - Aquapark 10 minute drive away on the Quarteira Road near Vila Sol, you will find a wonderful Waterpark, with sealife, shows and exhibitions.
Vilamoura with its' Marina, Restaurants, Bars (yes there is an "Irish" one here), Night Clubs and Casino is 9km. away.
Fishing trips, Sailing, Cruises and Charter Hire can also be booked here.
Loule old town, with its' medieval walls and good market is 10km
Faros 'Forum Algarve' shopping mall 16km.

Booking notes
Please send your request for your specific dates by e-mail. We will reply by return, sending you a provisional confirmation which will lapse if a deposit is not forwarded by a specified time (usually 7 working days).
30% deposit required to secure the booking, the balance is due 6 weeks before your arrival date.
A security/damage deposit of £250 is required on booking, this is refunded 14 days after your departure if the house is left as you found it.
