Notes on prices
Prices are for 2 persons sharing per night. Single accommadation is availible. For bookings of 3 nights or more a discount will be available. Also dicounted prices availble for stay and play golf.
Changeover day
We would ask all guests to vacate there rooms by 11am with rooms available from 2pm.
Notes on accommodation
We offer a full English breakfast or continental if preferred. Evening meal can be booked in advance.
We are a non-smoking residence but there are outside places under cover where you can smoke.
There is plenty of space for storage outside of golf clubs and drying of beachwear.
Accessibility
We do have a double or twin en suite room on the ground floor, but there are three steps to the front door from the level drive.
Outside
The villa boasts a very peaceful aspect overlooking orchards and countryside with an 8m x 4m swimming pool which keeps a very usable temperature throughout the summer months. The garden is totally fenced and private with loungers and umbrellas. Poolside towels are provided. There is a large shady terrace with chairs, also a place for a quiet cigarette or an evening night cap.
Coast/Beach
The lagoon at Foz da Arelha and silver sandy beach is only 25 mins in the car, parking along the beach edge, at no cost adds to the pleasure, with little beach bars and cafes to relax in. A great place to watch the action on the surf are the beaches at Peniche, and with its great fish restaurants and port another great place to spend the day. San Martinho a beautiful cove with beach board walks and large promenade, colourful beach tents and great shops, is just 35 mins from us by car.
Golf
We are very close to the Golden Eagle Golf Club. We can arrange you tee times if required, there is a Tuesday and Thursday morning roll up. The club has an English pro, lessons can be arranged as can golf club hire and buggies
Special interest holidays
We are happy to arrange a private tour of any area here in the silver Coast, we will accompany you or just act as tour guide. Tours can be arranged for half day to the local markets etc., or all day tours to Lisbon or Porto. We have lots of information on all the local fiestas and events being held here in this beautiful country. Obidos for the Medieval and Chocolate Festivals. Or next door to the farm to watch traditional breadmaking, goat milking or a walk to the spring for water clean enough to drink. Please ask when booking for prices.
Travel
The airport at Lisbon is 55 mins by car. The Porto airport is 2 hours by car. We are happy to include in the price of your stay, airport collection and return. We would advise the use of a car to enjoy the area to its full potential. There is a very good bus service from the local town to many areas in the Silver Coast, and it is not expensive to travel first class on the trains. Car hire can also be arranged for you from the local town if required.
Distances
Caldas de Rainha is the nearest large town with all the facilities you could need. It has the famous Queen's mineral hospital of which you can buy treatments. Known also for the potteries, which are well worth a visit, as are the factory shops for your souvenirs. Obidos is only 10 mins by car, it is the most popular tourist attraction in Portugal. It is the most romantic medieval walled town, with walls draped in colourful climbing flowers.
Further details
You can arrange to have surf or sail lessons, at Foz de Arelho, there is freshwater fishing with licence at Peniche, Golfing at Europe's number one golf resort at Pria de la Rey. Also at Golden Eagle.
A boat trip to the Berlenga islands.
There are four star restaurants at Obidos for special occasions
and go karting for the Lewis Hamiltons amongst you.
