Orange Tree Cottage is situated in the two acre garden of a villa located in the country near Alvor. The cottage has a double bedroom with air-conditioning/ heating and leads in to a small sitting room with a terrace and BBQ. The view is across the orange trees to the Monchique range of mountains ten miles away. There is satellite TV. The breakfast room is small but adequate with fridge/freezer and usual kitchen appliances - including microwave oven & double hot plate but no cooker. The shower room adjoins the kitchen/breakfast room. A car is essential. The property is 3 kilometres from nearest supermarket etc. There are good and varied restaurants within 5 minutes drive in the surrounding countryside. Alvor, ten minutes drive, is a picturesque fishing village with many bars and restaurants as well as a wonderful beach. Lagos, with more history, is 20 minutes drive away. Penina golf (3 courses) and Morgado (two courses) are very near by.

| Living Rooms: | Sitting room opens onto your private terrace looking straight at Monchique Mountain and ten feet from nearest oranges to pick. The main house is 25 metres away. There is satellite TV and video. |
| Other: | Property very quiet and peaceful. Two very friendly rescue dogs, Bella the Labrador & Shelley the Portuguese Water dog, they will visit you for a doggy biscuit and chat. |

Beautiful gardens, flower beds, shrubs, lawns and citrus orchard. Heated oval shape pool 6 metres by 4. Use of pool shared with owners, Tuesday/ Saturday 1400/ 1630.
Coast/Beach
Alvor beach is 15 minutes drive. It really is a spectacular beach stretching for 5/6 k. There are beach cafes/ restaurants down there. Except in high summer the beach is very quiet.
Golf
Penina Golf is 4 kilometres away and has an 18 championship course and a further 18 hole and 9 hole courses.
Morgado golf with two 18 hole courses is two kilometres as the crow flies, 15 minutes drive.
Special interest holidays
The Algarve is good for walking of all categories. There are organised advertised walking groups. Alvor has a boardwalk extending several kilometers along the estuary and beach, great for walking/ jogging. Algarve Autodromo. 15 minutes drive. International Go Karting Track that is for public use.
Superbike World Championships. Touring Car Racing. Vintage Car racing. Formula Auto GP etc. etc. You can drive a Ferrari etc, on track.
Travel
Faro Airport 50 minutes drive away. Car hire essential, however we have just had a single lady staying with us for three weeks who used local (infrequent) bus service and taxis and did not find it an issue.
Distances
Alvor fishing village 15 minutes drive. Good restaurants nearby, 5/10 minutes drive away on quiet roads. Lagos historic city with yacht marina and beaches 20 minutes drive. Cape St Vincent the SW corner of Europe - 45 minutes drive away, big cliffs and great surfing. Silves - old Moorish capital with castle and atmosphere 20 minutes away. Lovely drive to the top of Monchique (3000 feet) takes 45 minutes.
Further details
All normally required facilities are within 15 minutes drive, including 6 screen movie theatre in Portimao. All films in English. The local english press gives details of organised walks and other activities.

About the owner
Joan and myself had spent most of our lives in warm climes and were looking for somewhere with a benign climate, attractive environment and little stress.
Portugal was the only country in "Western" Europe that we had not previously visited, in four days we bought our home in The Algarve.
It has exceeded all our expectations with the most sunshine days in Europe, beautiful beaches, Monchique Mountains to look at and very polite and friendly people.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The house is situated in 2 acres of citrus grove, flower beds, shrubberies and lawn.
It is VERY quiet and looks straightat Monchique mountain, ten kilometers away. We are only 8 kilometeres from the very attractive resort/ harbour of Alvor with its truly magnificent beach which extends for 4 kilometers.
Don't like walking on sand; there is a very extensive boardwalk running parallel to the beach and also running along the estuary. A good 45 minutes walk if you want it.
We are only 5 kilometers for Portimao the biggest city on The Algarve with English Cinema, good retail and its own very attractive beach.
There are several good local restaurants less than ten minutes drive and many more further afield.
Unique benefits of the property
Beautiful location and garden on top of a hill with great views. Very quiet, all the villas have two acre plots with 40 year old trees.
Although we do have neighbours some of the time, you can't see them or hear them.
Fifteen minutes into biggest 'city' on The Algarve.
Fifteen minutes to beach.
Ten minutes to Penina Championship Golf Resort.
