The villa is truly unique and only five minutes drive to many beautilful beaches. Set in stunning private grounds bordered on two sides by Sir Cliff Richard’s Quinta and vineyards next door. The villa is furnished and decorated to a high standard and is ideal for large families/groups and suitable for wheelchairs. The villa sleeps 10, with 4 bedrooms having en-suite and the 5th bedroom with separate shower room. Extensive, beautifully landscaped gardens with lawns, shrubs and palm trees, a large swimming pool, an orchard providing fresh oranges, lemons. The entire plot is on 2.46 acres, with perimeter fencing and privacy screening. There is a very large kitchen/dining area and a games room with full size table tennis, PS2, DVD,MP3 and board games. There is independent air-conditioning/heating throughout the villa, private entrance and large driveway.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. We also are offering 15% discount on any third week rental booked (2+1) for the same vacation period. Additional discounts available for repeat bookings.

Changeover day
Moinho Velho villa is available for occupancy from 15:00 on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 11 am on the day of departure. Changeover days are flexible if possible, please ask at time of booking.

Notes on accommodation
All rooms have air-conditioning for the summer months which also doubles as heating in the cooler months, or you could light a roaring fire in one of the 3 enclosed fireplaces to be found in the house. Moinho Velho is ideal for children of all ages including the young at heart, a great entertaining house, or just an oasis to relax and recharge. The house was designed with children in mind, the side wing has been made to be child friendly with three of the bedrooms named after our own children, Lucia-Maria, Brandon, and Jordan. All boast hand painted murals depicting Disney, American football and Surfing scenes and they also have very large en-suites and there own terraces to sunbath on. The entrance hall is grand to say the least double doors open to the main hall that has no less than two double sets of patio doors leading to a secret courtyard with its own fountain, great for afternoon tea. There is a games room with full size table tennis, PS2 & games, MP3, DVD & films and games.
Accessibility
Although not especially adapted for people with mobility problems Moinho Velho in its design gives far more accessibility than most villas found in the Algarve. Apart from the master suite the whole house is on the ground floor with very little steps to enter, the bedrooms boast large shower areas that access can be made with very little discomfort. Access to the pool area is simple from the main terrace and across the lawn. If assistance is required, please do not hesitate to ask us.
Outside
Patio doors leading into grounds with a 12m x 6m heated swimming pool , sun loungers, BBQ area, landscape gardens with immense lawn area (ideal for children). Garden furniture/outside shower, an Orchard providing fresh oranges, lemons, and grapefruit (when available). Fully enclosed perimeter fencing with privacy screens. Electronic gates with traditional drive which leads through the front gardens and central island for ample parking for several cars. The young ones are safe and cannot escape and are free to roam the gardens to explore and watch the wildlife (all harmless), if they are lucky they may hear the greater lessor spotted sircliffrichardous bird singing in the trees, who knows, whilst your on your summer holiday what might happen. The garden is maintained twice weekly by our ground staff and kept looking beautiful all year. Moinho Velho is looked after by English support staff.
Coast/Beach
The beautiful Blue Flag beaches of Sao Rafael, Evaristo, Castelo and Gale, Salgados to name a few are all 5-10 minutes drive from Guia. A little further a field you can visit Sagres, the most Westerly point of Europe, with its wild unspoilt beaches in the centre of the National Park, great to see, but even more fun for body boarding (beginners/prof), windsurfing etc, equipment can be hired, lessons are avail. hire and transportation to any of the above areas can be arranged, at point of booking.
Golf
Golf courses: Algarve has some of the best golf courses of all differing scales and prices. The local golf course is Salgados, which is 5 minutes drive and is close to the beach. Vilasol in Vilamoura, Parque da Floresta, Pine cliffs and the famous Quinta de Lago are all under 30 minutes drive away. Transportation is available, Mini-bus transfers (8 seater), tours and day trips can be organised by a local taxi company that we can recommend. All drivers speak English and know the Algarve region well. Let us know at time of booking if this will be a requirement as discounts may be available.
Travel
Faro airport is 30 minutes drive away. Car hire is only recommended if you intend to travel and do sightseeing. We have information on a local taxi company that we can recommend that has 8 seater mini buses for Airport transfers, tours and day trips etc. Let us know at time of booking and we can provide more information and possible discounts. Just ask and we will assist.

Further details
The village of Guia with its local grocers, restaurants and banks is a must, you can even buy an English newspaper and breakfast if you wish. Three or four restaurants come to mind, firstly Alfredos in the high street, food is local and good value, then Alantico which is off the high street with its fresh fish and meat platters and great wines. Peri peri chicken is a must have and a visit to any of the specialist restaurants will not disappoint. The cabin restaurants on Gale beach are great especially for fish, 5 mins away is the Casa do Carne(the house of meat) with its huge T bone steaks. The Algarve Shopping Centre is only 10 minutes drive away with shops, cinemas, bowling alley and restaurants. Algarve has some of the best Golf courses of all differing scales and prices. Local golf course is Salgados which is 5 minutes drive and is close to the beach. The harbour town of Portimao is only 15 mins drive along the coast where there is an excellent shopping centre in the old town and fresh fish lunches by the harbour should not be missed. A wide range of sports facilities are available in Carvoeiro, including 3 golf courses, tennis and water sports. Please note, Moinho Velho is self catering and non-smoking.

By completing the booking form and including all relevant details and any special requests will be your acceptance of our terms and conditions. We require 30% of the villa hire charge as a deposit. If you book 12 weeks prior to departure, full payment will be required. All party members must take out travel insurance and ensure that they have insurance covering cancellation charges and emergency assistance and name it on the booking form.
