Marina Park is set in and around a beautifully landscaped natural amphitheatre with 24hr security. Our contemporary spacious 1st floor apartment provides town views from the large hard wood decked balcony. The spacious balcony is shaded by roller blinds and provides ample space for outdoor dining where dining furniture is made available (There is also a clothes airer provided for outdoor drying). The apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the beautiful marina and railway station a 15 minute walk from Meia-Praia beach and Lagos historic walled town. There is large leisure area with a 40x20 metre shared pool , children's play area and tennis courts, poolside bar and restaurant. 2 first class golf courses - Bovista and Palmares are within a 10 minute drive and many other world class courses within an hours drive. Our agent lives close to the complex and will meet you on arrival at Marina Park. For an additional charge, they can provide you with private transport from Faro airport.

Coast/Beach
Meia - Praia beach is a mere 10 minute walk providing 2.5 miles of sandy coast served by beach cafes and ideal for wind surfers. There are also some wonderful coves along this coast. The modern marina is just a 5 minute walk away where you can wander around little boutiques or enjoy the cafes along the marina. The railway station serving Faro and Lisbon etc. is across from the marina The historic town of Lagos is less than 15 minutes where you can loose yourself in its quaint little streets.
Golf
Boa Vista golf club on the west side of the town is a 10 minute drive providing spa and gym and restaurant facilities. 10 minutes further west is Parque da Floresta Golf and country club with spa, gym and restaurant facilities. Palmares golf club to the east is just a 5 minute drive.
Travel
Faro Airport is a 50 minute drive by motorway and Lisbon airport is a 3 hour drive from Lagos. Car hire is available from all airports or our on site agent can recommend a local hire company with discounted prices. However a car is not essential unless you wish to travel to other towns or villages. Taxis are readily available and are reasonably priced. Public transport by train or bus is also available. Transport is provided for trips such as the aqua park or zoo marine etc.
Distances
From the marina harbour one can take a dolphin viewing trip. Information on other trips such as the aqua park or zoo marine can be had from the reception of the complex.
Further details
The local supermarket is less than a 10 minute walk away with a small supermarket on site. Information on restaurants which we have used is all documented in our visitors book in the apartment as is information on local taxis, hairdressers, spas etc.
Wifi is available at the pool side restaurant.
There is both a private and public hospital in the town within a 5/10 min drive.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought our apartment on the advice of an acquaintance knowing very little about the area. We knew it was close to the beach and obviously the marina. On our visitation in the winter we fell in love with Lagos. We loved the whole marina area and the quaint little cobbled streets of the town with its huge selection of small shops and restaurants of every world cuisine. For our winter visits we spend much of our time visiting all the little towns from central Algarve to Cape St, Vincent which is the most Westerly point. We stop for morning coffee and lunch in the afternoon sun in one of the Algarves many eating places. In summer time we enjoy the complex pool and the local beach for sunbathing and walking. Our teenagers love the lively bars and street entertainment in the late evening.
Unique benefits of the property
One of the most favourable features of the apartment is the town view from the large balcony.Very few of the apartments in the complex are so favourable located. It is an ideal space to watch the activity of the town below while having brekfast in our P.J's or sipping a glass of wine with our evening dinner before we retire inside to watch a video before bedtime. This for us is what makes it a holiday.
Sometimes we eat out and enjoy the Algarve cusine where one can dine on the street or in some cases on the rooftop. Then a meander around to see the street preformers or while away the time in one of the many pubs like The Irish Rover or the English Fools and Horses. Other times we just potter in the many shops which are opened until late in the summer enjoying the athmosphere.
