Lavender Villa is situated in the stunning rural hamlet of Freixo Verde which is just 45 mins from Faro Airport. It nestles in the valley between Benafim and Alte with breathtaking scenery and fresh clean air. Freixo Verde is set back from the heaving commercial resorts and inhabitants are mainly Portuguese and is ideal for those looking for an escape from the stresses of modern life. The location is perfect for walking holidays, enjoying breathtaking scenery and fresh air. We offer peace and tranquillity in a nature lover’s paradise. There are endless walking opportunities in beautiful natural surroundings, with fantastic views, and teeming with bird life. Easy access to the popular beaches and areas of the Algarve. It has a large lounge with mountain views, dining and kitchenette area with mountain views, main bedroom with double bed, separate bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, front porch with garden, use of rear garden with orange trees, wooden gazebo and barbecue.

Notes on accommodation
Accommodation is suitable for children, baby toys available on request, plus babysitting by registered childminder in evenings. I have two children aged 11 and 13 who would be company for older children in the summer holidays to play with. I have a large inflatable dip pool that we fill in the summer months and also a large trampoline with safety net, plus a small see-saw. The area is very safe for children as we are away from any main roads. There are plenty of places for children to swim eg the local fonts in Alte, the municipal swimming pool in Salir and the local hotel in Alte has a swimming pool that visitors can use for a small fee. The area is ideal for walkers and there are many walks which are listed in books such as Algarve-Loule Walking Guide, Discovery Walking Guides, Landscapes of Algarve (Sunflower Countryside Guide) includes walks, car tours and picnics. There are regular markets in nearby Alte, Messines, Loule and Azinhall. It is a chance to pick up bargains!

Private front garden for use with apartment, use of large rear garden with wooden gazebo, bench table and barbecue. Sun beds, an area at rear of house with large sun blind for shade with patio table and chairs.
Coast/Beach
30 minutes to nearest beach which is Vilamoura and Quarteira by car. Blackhorse beach has the facility to park on the edge of the beach and you can walk past the beautiful estuary into Quarteira which has a pedestrianised front with plenty of shops, bars and cafes. The IC1 and motorway is very close near Messines which takes you to all the resorts in the Algarve. Albufeira is roughly 45 minutes away. Praia do Falesia beach is only 30 minutes away, this is in Acoteias.

Travel
Nearest airport is Faro which is a 45 minute drive.
Distances
Alte is 5 kilometres, Benafim 4, Salir 8, Messines 10, Silves 20, Loule 12. Praia do Marinha is between Carvoeiro and Armacoa de Pera and is by far my favourite beach, it has a man-made staircase but is not suitable for the disabled. Carvoeiro is about an hours drive. There is a main road which goes through the Algarve called the M125, this runs parallel with the A22 which goes through all the town.
Further details
Nearest shop and bar is Sarnardas which is a 10 minute walk, Alte has many shops/cafes, gift shops and local fontes and barbecue areas where you can swim. Benafim has a local supermarket and Loule is excellent for a weekly shop in the larger supermarkets. Alte has a bank and cashpoint, so has Benafim. Loule has many banks.
