The properties are in a quiet Portuguese residential area close to all amenities. The building is traditional Portuguese type. Each property has a modern fitted kitchen and modern bathroom with power showers, flat screen TV with satellite (English TV) and DVD players. 2 bungalow type buildings have 2 bedrooms, the other building is an apartment with ground floor and top 1st floor. The ground floor has 3 bedrooms, the 1st floor has 3 bedrooms, balconies and BBQ and separate dining room. The properties are next to the main train and bus station for trips out. We also offer minibus service at a very good rate we pick up from the airport and back (check for availability when booking if you require this service). We live near by and keep in touch to give personal advice and information about the area to our guests A popular holiday resort a taste of the real Portugal (English is spoken in most restaurants).

Notes on accommodation
For the summer months each room is provided with a fan. Central heating and wood burning fires are provided in 2 of the properties for the cooler months. The courtyard (pool/spa and BBQ) is open plan design and private area only shared between 4 properties. The area is cleaned daily. Towels and robes provided for use this area. We also offer free pick up to and from the airport for guests staying two weeks or more in July and August 2009. A free welcome starter pack of bottled water, bread, butter, tea, coffee, ham or cheese, juice is available to our guests on arrival. If required guests can arrange with us a free trip around the town in the mini bus. To show the area, places of interest and local amenities.

Accessibility
The properties are situated on a slight incline and access would be difficult for people with mobility problems. The courtyard area also has a few steps.

Outside
The courtyard area is private all tiled area and shared by the 4 properties (purely Portugal guests only). The pool is 5x3m (heated in cooler months). The hot spa seats a max 6 persons. Outside shower. Electric canopy to keep you in the shade on very hot days. A BBQ can be used by the guests (adults only). Deck chairs, table and chairs for BBQ is provided.

Coast/Beach
Figueira da Foz has many beaches. The main beach is 10 mins walk with approx 2km of white beach (with 5 aside football pitches), surrounded by palm trees. Figueira da Foz is at the mouth of the river Mondego, you can cross the bridge by taxi or bus (which run every half hour on week days, fare is approx 1 euro). Surfing school at Cabadelo. There are 15km of beaches along the Atlantic coast.

Travel
Figueira da Foz is situated between Porto and Lisbon airport.
. Car hire is available at both these airports. The bus and train also go into Figueira da Foz.The bus and train station is 5 mins away from accommodation), please check timetables.

Distances
Coimbra has a university, lots of history and good shops - easy to get to by train 48km. Montemor -o -Velho is a market town worth a visit, overlooked by a fantastic castle 16km. Monsteiro da Batalha has a monastery, coffee and gift shops, this makes a nice day trip.approx 54km.
Averio - the Portuguese Venice recommended 61km if you wish to visit any of these places information is available on request (also these trips are available by purely Portugal by private minibus).

Further details
Figueira da Foz has many cafes, restaurants, local shops, supermarkets, English cinemas with Portuguese sub tittles/banks (it has a Barclays bank). To exchange money at the banks there is a fee (there is a greater fee for travellers cheques), most places take all major debit and credit cards.

There is go-karting, horse riding, surfing, aqua park and tennis. There is also a hospital for emergencies 10 mins from drive from the properties.

Booking conditions: a 20% deposit is required to secure the accommodation. the balance is required on the time of arrival
for hire. Private 8 seater minibus and driver to and from Lisbon or Porto airport. (please check availability and price when booking dates if you require this service). Cost return to Lisbon airport 200 Euro. Cost return to Porto airport 150 Euro.
