Notes on accommodation
The walls and floors of this modern house have been beautifully finished with natural materials from the stone floors on the ground floors to the ultra-modern glass and stainless steel balustrading on the central marble staircase rising from the lower ground floor up to the spectacular roof terrace.
There is a travel cot and a high chair in the property.
All fixtures and fittings have been carefully selected and the property has been completed to the highest standard.
Each room can be individually heated or air conditioned and the centralised electric shutters provide security and offer shade in the summer months.
Accessibility
This house is built on 4 levels and is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs users or those with reduced mobility.
Outside
Breathtaking vistas from the massive roof terrace, which is furnished with a couple of sun beds and an outdoor patio set (perfect for 'sundowners' or morning coffee). Large ground floor outside terrace with 8-seater solid teak table and chairs.
Barbecue. Wooden deck surrounding private heated pool, with 4 solid teak sun loungers. Small grass area to front of property with patio door leading to lounge. Please note the swimming pool is only maintained from May to September unless by prior arrangement.
Coast/Beach
This villa retains the tranquility of a rural setting and is only a short walk (around 10 mins through the pine forest and a further five over the rugged sand dunes) to a 5 mile stretch of deserted Atlantic coastline, known locally as Salgado beach. The ever popular Nazare beach is around 2 miles away and the perfect bay of Sao Martinho, with its calm waters and golden sand is approx 6 miles away.
Travel
This area enjoys superb motorway links from both Lisbon (75 mins) and Oporto (180 mins) airports along the newly built A8.
Distances
The house lies close to both the beautiful fishing town of Nazare (approx 2 miles), with its bustling bars, restaurants and street cafes and the sophisticated beach resort of Sao Martinho (approx 6 miles), with its sea-shell shaped bay and its upmarket shops.
Further details
Other local amenities are a short distance; less than a 10 minutes drive to a large supermarket, an excellent aquapark and a popular nature reserve as well as the ancient dual towns of Sitio and Nazare with their famous funicular railway climbing the hillside between them.
The famous hill town of Obidos is close, with its walled castle and cobbled streets is well worth a visit. So is the Obidos lagoon which is perfect for sailing, wind-surfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding etc via the Lagoon sailing school.
Most of the beaches along this stretch of coast are prefect for surfing, so don't forget to pack your bodyboard!
Horse riding, tennis, mountain biking and even bullfighting are all available locally.
Banks, Post Offices etc. are all available in Nazare.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
Cancellation policy: up to 8 weeks before let 25% refunded.
Within 4-8 of let 75% refunded. Within 2-4 weeks 50% refunded. Less than 2 weeks - no refund.
Add £25 per week if you would like the pool heated. A damage deposit of £150 is required on all bookings and will be refunded within 14 days of the end of the let.
