You are spoilt for choice by the superb safe beaches around Lagos, only 2 miles away.
Travel
The nearest airport is Faro which is 1 hour away by car also there is Lisbon but this is 3 hours by car, a taxi from Faro is usually 90 euros there is also the train from Faro to Lagos which is about 8 Euros per person, I can hire you a car which is a 8 seater MPV turbo diesel with A/C for 250 euros per week including insurance.
