Beautiful new luxury villa which enjoys an extremely spacious corner position. Designed and furnished to a very high standard, each room has either a balcony or access to the large pool area at the rear of the property. The house is within walking distance to several restaurants, shops, and bars, and the new lido pool which is now open in Salir-do-Porto. Sao Martinho do Porto is a short stroll around the bay along the attractive board walk. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, the property offers an extremely comfortable home accommodating 6 people with ease and having a large 9m by 4m pool area with a built in barbecue and lots of sunbathing/outdoor space. The outdoor area is well equipped with a large table and chairs and sun shades and loungers.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday with a 10.30 departure and a 15.00 arrival. We are happy to try to accommodate any requests for changes to this if we can, particularly in the quieter months.

The house will be serviced by a management company prior to your arrival and bathroom towels (with the exception of pool towels) and linen are included. |
Notes on accommodation
The house is strictly Non-Smoking and we kindly request that guests refrain from smoking within the house. This is a very spacious house both internally and externally which will provide very comfortable accommodation for either one large or two small families. We have limited the accommodation to 6 guests to give you lots of space and to provide a second sitting room / lounge area. A 5 minute walk will get you to the beach and sand dunes of Salir-do-Porto and a further 15 mins will take you along the board walk to Sao Martinho do Porto. The house is fitted with gas central heating and has a log burning fire in the lounge if you visit in the cooler months. Free WI-FI Internet access. For your safety, the house is fitted with 3 smoke detectors, a fire extinguisher, a fire blanket, and a carbon monoxide detector.

Accessibility
The house has 3 steps from the gate to the front door. As all the sleeping accommodation is upstairs it may not be suitable for disabled guests.
Outside
Spacious, private pool area giving lots of outdoor living space.
The kidney shaped pool measures 9m x 4m and the depth varies from 1m to 1.7m. with two sets of steps. The outside area is fully equipped with quality wooden table and chairs, loungers, and umbrellas/sunshades. The large, built-in barbecue with sink area is ideal for the long summer evenings.
Coast/Beach
The Silver Coast area is famed for its fantastic beaches and none more so than the sheltered bay of Sao Martinho do Porto which is warm and safe and ideal for swimming. The beach at Salir-do-Porto is a 5 minute walk and a new outdoor lido pool was opened in summer 2009.
The beach and bay of Sao Martinho do Porto is a continuation of the beach at Salir (it's part of the same bay), and is a lovely stroll along the board walk. Other beach resorts of Foz d'Arelho and Nazarre are a 15-20 min drive.
Golf
There are several golf courses within a 30-45 min. drive including the highly acclaimed Praia d'el Ray near Obidos, Bom Sucesso, Royal Obidos Spa and golf resort, Golden Eagle golf resort at Rio Major, and many others.
Special interest holidays
The climate on the Silver Coast is ideal for many outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking in some of the beautiful national parks, swimming, surfing at Peniche and Baleal, canoeing, and golf. There are water parks near Nazarre and north of Leiria.
Travel
Lisbon airport is approximately 1 hours drive via the A8 motorway. Approaching from the north, Porto airport is approx. a 2 hour drive away. Car hire is highly recommended to explore this beautiful area of Portugal.
Local buses and trains are available to Caldas da Rainha, and express services connect to Lisbon.
Distances
The region is home to many of Portugal's most famous sights including Alcobaca monestary, the shrine of Fatima, the walled town of Obidos, and many more. Sao Martinho do Porto, which is a 20 min. walk away, has a large selection of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. Caldas da Rainha is a 15 drive away and is a bustling Spa and market town with a good selection of shops and supermarkets.
Further details
Salir-do-Porto has a handful of cafes/bars/restaurants within a few minutes walk. A new outdoor lido pool opened summer 2009. Also in the village is a post office, a Multibank cash machine, and a new mini-market. A 20 minute stroll along the board walk or a 5 minute drive takes you to Sao Martinho do Porto with a large selections of Cafes, Bars, restaurants, and shops. There is also a bank and a couple of small supermarkets and a new large "intermarche" supermarket opened summer 2009.
For more extensive shopping, Caldas da Rainha is a large market town about a 15 minute drive away.

Booking by e-mail or phone. A non-refundable 20% deposit is required to secure your booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before the holiday start date. An advance security deposit of £200 is also required.
