Close enough to the beach, and yet, bordering the green country. 50 minutes drive from Lisbon, 10 minutes drive to the historic medieval Obidos.

Coast/Beach
10 min walk to the beautiful white sandy beach of Foz do Arelho, a good surf spot as much as a great beach with amazing creeks you can visit in low tide. 8 min to the lagoon's beach, perfect for very small children. The sailing school is just 2,5km away, a nice walk along the north shore of the lagoon. On the other side the waves of the Atlantic, a paradise for surfers. Within a radius of 30kms you will find many fantastic beaches.
Travel
The Lisbon airport is 85km. It's nice to have a car if you want to visit the area.
A8 motorway connecting to Leiria, Lisbon, and points in between. A15 motorway connecting to Santarém.
Distances
Caldas da Rainha, the closest city is 10km away. You can take the bus around the corner. Free shuttle to the beach during July and August (from Foz village).
Further details
In Caldas da Rainha you will find all facilities you may need. It's also a nice place to visit, with some good museums and a great park. Walk through the beautiful green park in the footsteps of Queen Leonor, breathe the fresh air and enjoy the shade of century old trees. The José Malhoa Museum sits in the middle of the park. The medieval walled town of Óbidos is 20 minutes away, the 12th century Monastery of Alcobaça and the 14th Monastery of Batalha are half hour drive away. The sailing school of the lagoon is 2.5km away and it's a beautiful spot for nautic activities.
