Changeover day
We are flexible regarding changeover days. Standard check-in is 3pm and check-out is 11am but these may also be flexible, please contact us a few days prior to arrival.

Bedroom 2 – antique double bed, built-in wardrobe, French doors to balcony with sea views.
Bathrooms: En-suite has large walk-in shower, double sinks and wc.
House bathroom consists of walk-in shower, sink and wc.
Kitchen: Kitchen/living room. Large kitchen including island unit with stools and all integrated appliances. Contains fridge/freezer, ceramic hob and oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Kettle and toaster.
Living Rooms: Living area: Corner leather sofa easily seats 4, coffee table, LCD TV, DVD player.
Large sliding glass doors open onto the terrace with the most fantastic sea views. There is a modern outdoor sofa and a built-in BBQ area for those lazy summer evenings.
Other: The separate ground floor self contained 1 bedroom apartment is available for rental on request should you wish to sleep 6.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Fresh towels and linen are provided when you arrive and a washing machine is also available. The house is cleaned before you arrive and after you leave. There is a vacuum cleaner in the kitchen cupboard.

Notes on accommodation
The house has full air-conditioning which also heats as well as cools. The house is not suitable for children.

Accessibility
The rented part of the house is set over the top 2 floors of a 3 storey building and as such is not suited to people with mobility problems. The street is also on a small uphill with the traditional Portuguese cobblestones making it uneven underfoot.

Outside
The top floor terrace off the living area is large and spacious with a modern outdoor sofa and table and a built-in BBQ. Some parking is available on the street outside the house; otherwise there is free public parking at the top of the street.

Coast/Beach
The local 'Batatas' beach is at the bottom of the street, so less than 100m. This beach is small with beautiful coves and rock formations and gets more secluded the further you go through the tunnels, (tide allowing). The beach of Meia Praia is a 4km long stretch of sand just across the harbour entrance. In high season there is a little ferry boat that takes you across for a small fee. The famous beach of Dona Ana is a short walk up to the top of the street then over and along the cliff tops.

Golf
Boavista a short drive or taxi ride away and slightly further is the Palmares course at the end of Meia Praia beach then Penina and Alto Golf in the nearby town of Alvor. Parque da Floresta is approximately 15 minutes drive.

Travel
Faro is just under an hours drive. You can also arrive by bus or train, the stations being a walkable distance to the house. A car is not essential for a stay in Lagos as there is plenty on offer here. There is a very good bus service for getting about to the neighbouring towns and main tourist attractions.

Booking notes
A deposit of £150 is required at the time of booking with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival. A further breakage and damages deposit of £200 is also required at this time which will be refunded after departure.

Both accountants, from Leeds we purchased this property in 2007 and spent a year living in Portugal overseeing the full renovation of this house.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
After holidaying in Portugal we were drawn to purchasing here by the climate, people and landscapes not to mention the cost of living versus much of the rest of Europe! To us, Lagos offered the complete package - a stunning coastline and natural beauty, a town riddled with history, old buildings and great amenities but without loosing its character.

Unique benefits of the property
The view, the location and stylish surroundings. The view from the terrace and lounge are unrivalled, offering not just a view of the sea but of the entire coastline from Lagos to the lighthouse at Praia de Rocha, including the entrance into Lagos marina and harbour. On leaving the property you can walk less than 100 metres down the street,passing under the historic city walls & be on the sea front with the 17th C. fort and Batata beach immediately in front of you. Perfect for hassle free trips to the beach or evening walks along the seafront & into town. Santa Antonio church, and the start of the many restaurants in town is also less than 2 minutes walk away, a fact that once in property is easily forgotten due to the lack of noise. The interior - luxuriously renovated.
