Casa Rosa Branca lies in the southwest of Portugal. The house is on the south slope of the Foia mountain at an altitude of 700 meters and is surrounded by protected natural scenery. It is within the volcanic mountain range of Serra de Monchique which is known for it’s natural springs. Our B & B has it’s own mineral water which feeds directly into the swimming pool and makes swimming and bathing a special experience. The advantage of the higher location is the outstanding view of the south, as well as the west coast. The summer nights are quite pleasant and since Casa Rosa Branca is located within coastal woods, it is a good starting point for hiking and sight seeing. We offer you a variety of service options: Comfortable accommodation with boxspringbeds. Hikes/walks: There are many beautiful routes in and around Casa Rosa Branca. You can: Explore the scenery on your own with the maps and descriptions or participate in organized hikes or all -inclusive Hiking weeks. Enjoy a massage.

Notes on accommodation
With the B & B rooms breakfast is included however with the apartments the first day only as it is a selfcatering unit.
Our B & B is not decorated and furnished to be suitable for children. We advise people not to come with small children who cannot swim. Our B & B attracts people who enjoy quietness and nature. The rooms all have central heating or heaters and vans. We provide for a comfortable shared living room accessible to all quests to meet and share have dinner/ breakfast or have a drink. Here you can sit at the fire place in winter or watch a movie. Eugene is an excellent chef and cooks twice a week for quests.
Accessibility
Our B & B is situated in the mountains and not suitable for disabled people. As the first village is within 3 miles distance we advise you to arrange your own transport.
Outside
We have a beautiful garden with all kind of flowers and (citrus)trees. You can either enjoy being on the spacious sun area around the swimming pool and green lawn or sit on your private terraces or balconies. We provide for outdoor furniture at all these areas as well as on the shared terrace. Our quests share a swimming pool of 10 x 5 meters. It is not a heated swimming pool. You can use the barbecue. From our property you can start hiking/walking.
Coast/Beach
Our Casa is a starting point for fun and adventurous excursions: the south coast (35 minutes drive) with impressive rock formations, suitable for swimming and hiking, peaceful wild beaches on the west coast (35 minutes drive) well-known by people who like surfing, tours with dolphins, picturesque villages like Silves (30 minutes drive) and Caldas de Monchique (10 minutes drive 1,5 hours walk) and wonderful walks through the adjacent National Park of Sierra de Monchique (surrounded).
Golf
The Algarve is the El Dorado for people playing golf with more than 30 golf courses. The closest one is about 20 kms from Casa Rosa Branca and called El Morgado:
This course is the newest course to open in the Algarve. Lying to the north of Portimão it is laid out in a large 980 hectare estate through undulating small valleys. The immediate main characteristic factor is its large greens which place demand on good putting skills. Also, the accuracy of the player's shot will be questioned by deep aggressive bunkers.
Special interest holidays
We provide a variety of group activities such as courses and all-inclusive hiking and walking holidays. Group activities are : Painting Course: the 8-12th of June, Sculpturing: 28th of July until the 1st of August, Yoga: 11-18th of October 2008. Hiking Holiday / Walking Holiday all-inclusive week: 13-20th September and 20-27th of December 2008 : this hiking week offers a tremendous variety of walks through different parts of the Western Algarve. You can ask for guided walks for a (half)day as you are on holiday and make your tailormade Walking Holiday. You can also enroll yourself for an individual session. We provide the following individual sessions all directed towards down to earth self-empowerment and awareness: Coaching while Walking; Massage; Personal Coaching and Stress management; Palm Reading; Tarot Reading and Astrology. Annelies and Eugene have extensive experience in training and coaching and can provide for personalized and creative team building weeks for companies.

Distances
Monchique (3 miles) is untouched by the invasion of tourism. Situated in between the two high hills, Foia and Picota, the former reaching to 902 metres above sea have retained the rustic atmosphere with steep cobbled streets and small doorways housing artisan trades. Silves (10 miles) picturesquely situated above the River Arade with its Moorish castle dates back to the Romans.Caldes de Monchique (3 miles)well-known therapeutic thermal baths and the area is ideal for a stroll in the woods.
