The property has a large double terrace leading to a lovely mature garden and pool area. Both outdoor and underground parking are available. The apartment is located adjacent to the Alto Golf Academy and driving range, minutes from the clubhouse with its restaurant and bar.

Changeover day
Changeover day will be on Saturdays, but there may be some flexibility, depending on availability. Arrival time 2pm and departure time 10am.

| Kitchen: | The bright kitchen has a granite worktop and all mod cons, including cooker, hob, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, microwave, kettle, toaster and large fridge freezer. A breakfast bar opens into the dining area. |

Notes on accommodation
This is a spacious and newly refurbished property in a lovely location. The property has heating and air-conditioning. It also has many other extras eg marble wall-mounted heating panels, heated towel rails, breakfast bar and remote control electric awning over the main terrace. The location provides the opportunity for two holidays in one as the spacious and mature garden leads to the pool area and is ideal for a quiet family holiday. Alternatively, guests can avail of the many facilities provided by the livelier Alto Country Club complex. Non-smoking.
Accessibility
This is a single storey property which can be accessed at ground level through the garden at the front of the property, or up a number of steps from the side. It does not have any additional facilities for wheelchair users.
Outside
Patio doors lead to the double terrace and large mature gardens. The main terrace has outdoor furniture. A flagstone pathway leads to the communal pool area and pool house with barbecue. Sun loungers are freely available at the poolside. There is underground parking and parking to the front of the apartment also.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is 7 minutes walk from Vau beach and is 5 minutes drive from the long sandy Alvor beach. It is also 4 minutes drive from Alvor centre/harbour with its quaint cobbled streets and great selection of bars and restaurants. There are also many lovely golden stretches of sand in the opposite direction, towards Portimao, most notably Praia dos Tres Irmaos, with it's red cliffs. Further east lie the deserted caves and grottos at Joao de Areus.
Golf
The property is located in the 5 star Alto Golf resort, adjacent to the golf academy and picturesque driving range. The golf course was the last designed by Sir Henry Cotton, English golfing legend and triple winner of the British Open. The 18 hole course runs through the Vale Do Vau, it is set in beautifully landscaped and mature gardens and many parts of the course have views to the sea. Club facilities include a driving range, putting green, pitching area complete with bunkers, trolleys, club hire, pro-shop, restaurant and bar. A golf buggy is also available for the use of guests, by prior arrangement with the owner. This course is noted as one of the most picturesque in the western Algarve.
Travel
Alvor is less than 50 minutes drive from Faro Airport. There are many private transfer options which can be pre-booked on the internet, from as little as 90 euros return trip for 4 people. Private taxis are also available, though it is advisable to agree fares prior to the journey, as fares can vary from 60 to 90 euros one-way. Car hire is not essential and taxi prices from the apartment to Alvor village or Praia do Rocha and Portimao are very reasonable.
Distances
The lively resort of Praia do Rocha is less than 5 minutes drive away, while Portimao is 8 minutes approx. There are many local attractions and tours available, eg the Slide and Splash Aquapark, Zoomarine and the swimming with dolphins excursion are approximately an hour away. For the more energetic there are guided cliff walks from Vau beach to Alvor harbour, or early morning yoga sessions on Alvor beach, information is available locally.
Further details
There are many local tourist shops in Alvor, where leather goods, linens, etc are for sale. It has an excellent selection of restaurants to suit all tastes, most of which offer incredible value. There are also a good selection of bars. For those who are interested in late nightclubs and or a visit to the casino, the bustling resort of Praia do Rocha is a short taxi ride away. There is a large Hypermarket in Alvor centre, alternatively there are 3 smaller supermarkets within 6 minutes walk. Portimao offers larger shopping centres with a great selection of products, again offering good value. Alvor has a number of banks and ATM machines.
