Al Sakia village has 24 hour security, a very large pool (approx 800sqm) plus jacuzzi and secure children’s pool and play area all protected by fenced, landscaped gardens, all accessed by swipe card provided in the apartment, professional gym, 2 all weather tennis courts, restaurant with take away menu and bar. There are two good supermarkets within walking distance. The apartment is on the 3rd floor with lift. Lovely views over the orange groves from a large balcony off the bedrooms with patio furniture. There is also a balcony from the lounge with patio furniture and seating for four people. You can have sun or shade from these balcony's and a very welcoming breeze in summer. Access to communal roof terrace for barbecuing. Underground garage with allocated parking place accessed by remote fob which is in the apartment.

Notes on accommodation
This is a strictly no smoking apartment. There is a selection of DVDs, CDs, books, games etc. Sky TV with Freeview (English channels), portable heaters, fans.
Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchair users. There is a lift via 4/5 steps.
Outside
Lovely landscaped gardens, 2 all weather tennis courts, communal pool (unheated), jacuzzi, very well equipped professional gym with equipment over 2 floors and aerobics room, (membership is included in the rental price) children's paddling pool and play area, all fenced in. There are 4 pool cards in the apartment, you have to swipe them to get in and out so very secure. The on site restaurant also has a very good take away menu and does excellent pizzas, steaks, fish and pasta dishes etc all day and evening till late. there is now a lidl supermarket at the end of the road next to the marufo restaurant (chicken shack) within walking distance and a pingu dolc supermarket approx 1 mile away just past the vila sol golf complex on the way to vilamoura and another one at the vila sol complex along with a bank with ATM, bar and restaurants. The apartment has a communal roof terrace where you can have a barbecue.
Coast/Beach
Fonte Santa beach is 5 mins drive, 30 mins walk. Beaches at Vale do Lobo, Quarteira and Vilamoura are approx 10 mins drive. The beaches are wide, clean and well looked after. Much quieter is Trafal beach, between Vilamoura and vale do lobo. All these are of golden sands, clean and within 5-10 mins by car. The beautiful Falesia beach (west of Vilamoura) is not much further away.
Golf
Nearest course villa sol, 500m away,five minutes walk, 18 holes, several good golf courses within 6km approx.

Travel
Faro airport is approx 2.5 - 3 hours flying time from UK. . regular flights are available from Doncaster, Manchester, Leeds, East Midlands, Luton, Stansted, Gatwick, Heathrow, Glasgow etc. The apartment is 20 mins drive from the airport, approx 25 euros in taxi. A bus stop is 500m away, and services run between Faro and Albufeira, stopping, at Almancil and Vilamoura etc. Car hire is recommended but not essential as taxis are reasonably priced.
Distances
Vilamoura is approx 4km from the apartment and takes circa 45 minutes to walk but less than 5/10 mins by car and should cost approx 5/10 euros in taxi. There are many small villages to drive to within 10-15km as well as the more lively coastal resort of Albufeira.
Further details
The Villa Sol shopping complex is now open, approx 500 mtrs away, with a supermarket, pub, restaurants, bank, atm etc. Aqua show park now open for more months of the year, approx 20 mins walk, 5 mins drive. Almancil carting 4km. the market is just at the top of the almancil to quarteira road (Wednesday) and Loule markets (Saturday). Marina at Vilamoura with lots of bars, shops and restaurants.
