Luxury house, with large sunny rooms. All bedrooms have Cathedral ceilings. All furnishings are of the highest quality, well equipped with everything to make you feel at home on holiday. A large variety of beaches and bays within an easy drive. At the back of the house is the 17th green of the Donald Steel designed 18 hole golf course. The equestrian centre, spa, gym, tennis, kids club, bars and restaurants are all within an walking distance. There is also a well stocked shop with cafe/fresh bakery, plus large communal pools all within walking distance of the house. The beaches at Santa Cruz, Santa Rita, Praia Azul and Foz are a short drive away. Ericeira and Cascais are further away, but still worth a visit.

Accessibility
Because of the elevated position of this property, there are a number of access steps, it is unsuitable for anyone with severe walking difficulties.
Outside

Coast/Beach
The beaches of Santa Cruz and Praia Azul are approximately 15 km. drive away. Ericeira has 3 beaches and is a 35 minute drive from the house. There you will find some of the greatest surfing beaches in Europe. The greatest of care should be used on any of the beaches, and special note taken if the Red flags are flying.
Golf

Travel
Car Advised. Lisbon Airport is a 30 minute easy drive from the house. Faro Airport is approx. 3 1/2 to 4 hours drive. (Motorway all the way). There is a train station in Torres Vedras, but not a direct line from the Airport. Buses from Campo Grande to Torres Vedras. Collecton to and from Lisbon Airport can be arranged. Contact Owner for more details if required.
Distances
Turcifal is just a few kms away through the pretty vineyards and rolling hills. Torres Vedras is 5km and is a large bustling town with many shops and supermarkets. It is also home to the New Arena Shopping complex.
Further details
Serra do Socorro (the large hill seen from the front of the house) was the heaquarters of the Duke of Wellington during the Peninsula Wars 1808-1812. There is also a Memorial to the Lines of Torres in Torres Vedras as well as a Museum.
Lisbon: 30km. The Capital of Portugal: Casinos, Museums, Expo 98, Shops, The Docas where you will find trendy bars, restaurants and clubs. This area is situated along the banks of the River Tagus.
Torres Vedras: 5km. 13th Century Castle. Within the restored walls, you will find the church of Santa Maria do Castelo and the beautifully kept gardens.
Obidos: 25km. This unique walled town dates back to 308BC and is best explored from the rampart walk that surrounds the town.
Sintra: 28km. Unesco World Heritage site has the beautiful Penn Palace as well as the vast grounds in which to explore.
Mafra: 12km. The Palace of Mafra: Baroque architecture and tranquil gardens.
Beaches: Ericeira has 3 beaches within 5 minutes walk of the town square. This typical fishing village has over 50 restaurants many of who specialise in serving famous Portuguese fish dishes.
Cascais: Take the N247 scenic route to Cascais and Estoril. Enjoy the beautiful views, without the stress of driving in heavy traffic. At the end of your journey, you will find shops and restaurants galore.

25% of rental fee secures booking. First night fee of Bed & Breakfast secures booking. Refundable breakage deposit of £300 required 2 weeks before your arrival. To be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure (subject to a satisfactory property inspection). Final payment required 6 weeks before your stay. Travel insurance is always advisable. We ask guests to arrive after 3pm and leave before 11 am on day of departure. All enquiries/questions welcome. No obligation to book.
