This brand new apartment has been thoughtfully furnished & equipped to provide a perfect holiday solution for both families with babies/young children or groups who wish to stay in a larger property on the ground-floor with a private spacious outside terrace. The property is located a short walk from the seafront of Cabanas, a quiet fishing village only 35 minutes drive from Faro. As well as a stunning beach, Cabanas offers some lovely cafes/bars & restaurants & is well provided with supermarkets & a fresh fish and vegetable market. Apartment guests have the use of 4 different swimming pools located in a neighbouring complex a minute's walk away. Benamor golf course is just a 5 minute drive & there are 4 others within 15 mins drive. The pretty, historical market town of Tavira, with its Roman bridge, riverside cafes, churches & market, is a 10 minute drive. Cabanas has all you need for a relaxing break but is also a fantastic location from which to explore the beautiful Algarve coast.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds irrespective of the number of guests, all utilities are included. Using the sofa bed, the apartment sleeps a max of 8 adults or 6 adults and 3 children (1 in the cot). The equipment for babies/children is provided for your convenience and usage carries no extra cost. Stays of less than a week or long lets are by arrangement.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible and agreed at the time of booking. We aim to be as flexible as possible with arrival and departure times, however, at peak times we may ask that you vacate by 10am to allow for cleaning prior to the arrival of incoming guests.

All bedrooms have ample wardrobe space, bedside tables, air-con and ceiling fans. A safety deposit box is fitted in Bedroom 1.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with shower, wc and washbasin with mirror/light over.
Bathroom with bath/shower over, wc, bidet and vanity washbasin with storage and mirror/light over.
Kitchen: Extremely well equipped and appointed kitchen with gas hob, electric cooker/grill, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, steriliser, hand blender. Double doors allow it to be safely shut off from the lounge.
Utility Room: Ironing board and iron, clothes airer, pegs etc.
Living Rooms: Lounge/dining room with patio doors onto terrace. Furnished with sofa bed (opens to double bed), 2 armchairs, 6 seater dining table. TV, UK Sky, DVD, video, PlayStation, CD player.
Other: There are DVD's, videos and CD's for both adults and children, a selection of adult card and board games as well as toys, games and books for children of different ages. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are fitted in the hallway.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Rental includes towels and linen which is changed weekly. Guests are requested to bring their own beach towels.

 

Notes on accommodation
Apartment has air con in the lounge & all bedrooms which can be used to either cool or heat the rooms. Ceiling fans are also fitted in the bedrooms. Each window has electric blinds to help keep things cool in the summer. The apartment is non-smoking, however, an ashtray is provided for use on the terrace. It is fully equipped for babies and young children; Graco travel cot (with bassinet) and bedding, changing mat, highchair, booster seat, baby intercom, nightlight, bed guards, bottle brush, steriliser, bottle warmer, potty, loo seat converter, step, babybath, door slam stoppers, small table & chairs, toys, games & books to suit most ages. When not required by guests, all of this equipment is discreetly stored away out of sight. Comprehensive welcome pack is provided with our compliments. Given sufficient notice and for a small additional charge, extra items such as nappies, wipes and baby milk can also be supplied at cost. Our British agent will greet you on arrival at the apartment.

Accessibility
The apartment is on the ground floor. In the foyer of the building there are 5 small but manageable steps with a hand-rail to access the apartment. Cabanas itself is extremely flat and is easy to walk around.

Outside
The apartment benefits from a very sunny large terrace (approx 80sqm) which faces east. Shade is provided by a large pergola under which are the 8 seater tables and chairs. Additional sun loungers and umbrellas are available. The terrace also has a barbecue and outside sink, perfect for alfresco cooking and dining. There are some outside toys and games for children including a small paddling pool and sit on/trike. Beach and pool toys (buckets/spades/armbands etc) are also available together with a sun tent. Guests have the use of 4 secure swimming pools (each approx 12x4m) on the adjacent development less than a minute's walk away. Access is via a key card provided on arrival. Close by there is an equipped and fenced children's play area with a very friendly cafe/bar adjacent that serves typically Portuguese food and drinks. Within a couple of minute's walk there is a small skate park and tennis courts.

Coast/Beach
The apartment is a gentle 8/10 min stroll from the waterfront where taxi boats offer a 2 min boat ride to the glorious white sandy beach of over 3km. The beach is extremely clean and holds European Blue Flag status. Boats cost 1.2 euro return per person and run throughout the day from April - October. The beach has a cafe bar, changing facilities, toilets and showers. There is a lifeguard/first aid station during the summer. Sunbeds, parasols, jet-skis and paddle boats are available for hire.

Golf
There are 5 superb 18 hole golf courses located within a 15/20 min drive from the apartment (local taxis are available) making it especially suitable for golfing holidays. Benamor (5 min drive), Par 71, 5500m. Course has an excellent reputation amongst UK golfers with cheap green fees, ideal for holiday golf with views out to the sea and nearby hills. Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima (10 min drive), Par 72, Championship 6,110m and Par 72, Championship 6256m respectively. These are neighbouring courses beautifully manicured with stunning views. Da Ria is fairly new but has already established itself as one of the best courses on the Algarve. Da Cima is tipped as a Portuguese Open Venue. Monte Rei (15 min drive), Par 72, Championship 6030m. A 5 star Jack Nicklaus signature course, newly opened in 2007. Spectacular course and outstanding service. Castro Marim (20 min drive), Par 71, 5265m. This most enjoyable course has a castle for a clubhouse and will appeal to most levels of player.

Travel
The closest airport is Faro, about a 35 min drive. Car hire is available from the airport or locally in the town. We can arrange taxi transfers, including 8 seater taxis with child seats, please enquire for details. There are also regular bus and train services to Cabanas from Faro. Alternatively Seville airport is approximately 90 minutes drive away. Car hire is not essential if you just want a relaxing holiday but is recommended if you wish to explore the Algarve coast in more depth.

Distances
The motorway IP1/A22 now runs the length of the Algarve making the Western Algarve very convenient to explore. Distance to Tavira approx 5 mins drive. The border of Spain/Ayamonte approx 20 mins. Seville approx 90 mins. Albufeira approx 90 mins. 5/10 mins drive to excellent golf courses (Quinta da Ria/Cima, Monte Rei, Benamor). Golf course Castro Marim approx 20 mins drive.

Further details
Despite its size and traditional charm, Cabanas is well served with a number of small supermarkets, butcher and bakery as well as a daily market of fresh produce and locally caught fresh fish. There are ATM machines, an internet cafe, post office and pharmacy. An English speaking dentist is located nearby in Conceicao (10-15 min walk away) and there is a 24 hour medical centre in Tavira. Cabanas has a wide variety of cafes, bars and restaurants which serve delicious and very reasonably priced food and local wines. Traditionally prepared meat and seafood dishes feature alongside the more usual European fare. The restaurants are also particularly welcoming to families with highchairs and booster seats usually available. There is a kite shop in Cabanas which offers kite surf and windsurfing lessons at the beach. Excursions are available by coach with local pickups to all of the Algarve's main attractions, including the Slide 'n Splash Water park and ZooMarine where you can swim with dolphins. The ancient market town of Tavira, which has lots of interesting history and shopping, can be reached by train from Conceicao, by water taxi (20 mins) from the beachfront or by car (10 mins). The local area has many places of interest for birdwatchers and walkers, including the national reserve of Ria Formosa Natural Park. Horse-riding and fishing can also be arranged locally.

Booking notes
A 30% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure dates with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival date. Payment to be made by cheque or bank transfer. Please check cost and availability of flights before making a booking. We recommend guests cover the risk of cancellation in their own holiday insurance. A breakage deposit of £150 is payable when the balance is due, this will be refunded within 14 days of your departure.
