Changeover days on request. House to be vacated by 10.00am and arrival after 3.00pm, but we try to be flexible on this.

Bedrooms: Bedrooms 1 and 2 with double beds. Large built in wardrobes. Bedroom 3 with twin beds. All with air conditioning and French windows onto gardens.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with shower over bath, bidet, toilet and basin. Additional shower room with basin, toilet and huge shower. Both completely refitted recently. Additional cloakroom upstairs.
Kitchen: The kitchen has been totally refitted and provides oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, iron, mixer and an extensive supply of cooking and dining equipment. It looks over the front gardens and pool area and is filled with morning sun.
Living Rooms: The living/dining room is on the 1st. floor to take advantage of the views and is spacious and light providing comfortable seating and dining. There is a TV, DVD and video. A French window leads onto the terrace with table and chairs.
Cleaning/towels/

Linen and towels (including beach towels) provided. Clean towels midweek, linen weekly. Local management to sort out any problems.

We have been granted the «AL» license now required by the Portuguese authorities to show that the property has been inspected and meets their stringent standards of facilities and safety.

Because of lay out house is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with difficulty using stairs

Outside
Upstairs terrace has table and chairs for al fresco dining. Downstairs there is a private garden with lawn, flowers and a further terrace for sunbathing and sunloungers; all with fantastic view. The 2 pools, only a few metres from the house, are heated, one a small kiddies pool and the larger one approx. 5x4 m. There are parasols and sun loungers round the pool area which has showers and toilets.

Coast/Beach
Figueira Beach reached by a footpath 1 km. away.Salema fishing village and beach 2km. Praia da Luz offering water sports 8 km.Many other beaches on both west and south facing coast within minutes by car, some excellent for surfing.

Golf
Parque da Floresta golf course is 2 km. away with discounts available. The spa and leisure resort offer extensive beauty therapies and a large pool (payment at spa). Lawn bowling. Water parks and water sports available locally. Many other golf courses within easy driving distance, notably Palmares, Penina and Boavista.

Travel
Faro airport is 100km to the east; journey time approx 1 hour. Lisbon 300km on excellent motorway. Car hire recommended, but there is a good local bus service. Santander 1000km.

Figueira 200m. Salema 2km. Lagos 16km. Cape St. Vincent 16km.

Further details
Small shop in village. Good supermarket 2km with more supermarkets in Lagos and Praia da Luz. 2 restaurants in village and huge selection in vicinity. Cash machine at Parque da Floresta and also in nearest supermarket. Good bird watching locally. Many surfing beaches. Scuba Diving. Boat trips and deep sea fishing available from Lagos and Sagres.

About the owner
My husband, a retired vet, and I, a retired physiotherapist, have lived and worked in the Yorkshire Dales, an area we love for it's stunning scenery and walking. Newbiggin is a perfect example of a friendly Dales community. We love living here and we never dreamt that we would ever buy anywhere abroad, but, 8 years ago we went to the Western Algarve on holiday and fell under the spell of the wild and beautiful coast line and especially it's wonderful climate. From holidays we gradually made the decision to spend more time there and converted The Stable from a derelict stable in the Dales (ref.E1458) to allow us to enjoy the luxury of living in both beautiful places. So, we now spend about 7-8 months in Portugal and the summer in Yorkshire and feel very privileged to enjoy this lifestyle.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We fell in love with the Western Algarve; it has a magical magnetic quality that is good for the soul! The climate allows us to lead the kind of outdoor lifestyle that we want, and where we are is a national park and unspoilt. The view from the house is superb and also the bird life and flowers in the spring are breathtaking. We also like classical music and have found the standard of music on offer incredibly high.
