Lily Cottage is an ideal location for holidays of every description. Only 1 hour’s drive from Porto (Oporto) airport. The historic town of Ponte de Lima is only 15 minutes drive, the costal town of Viana do Castelo only 18km away. The famous market town Barcelos around 25 minutes drive. Within easy reach of the National Parks, very accessible to the Motorways A3 and A28/27 There are three golf courses at easy driving distances. A very good area for walkers.

Accessibility
Lily Cottage has it's own vehicle entrance with secure parking and room for turning the vehicle. The property is suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
Lily Cottage has no swimming pool and may be unsuitable for children. There is a patio dining table and 4 chairs, sunloungers and seating.
Coast/Beach
Viana do Castelo is the nearest coastal town. It is still a working port with many places of interest and excellent restaurants. There is also a railway station with trains to Oporto and Spain. There are several beaches to the North and South of Viana.
Golf
Ponte de Lima Golf club is the nearest course. Around 15-20 mins by car. It is a woodland course with a par 5 of over 600 yards!! Very nice course with excellent facilities and catering. Estela is around 40 mins drive, a links style course and highly recommended (no catering on Monday’s). Quinta de Barca is a 9 hole course set in a holiday complex near Esposende. Not a long course but nice greens and well worth a visit, perhaps a more ‘holiday’ style of course. Good facilities as there are with all the Portuguese courses. It is always advisable to avoid golf courses in Northern Portugal at weekends (especially Saturday’s). There are normally competitions for members only and the courses are crowded. There is an 18 hole course in Vigo (Northern Spain) which is around an hours drive using the A3. Amarente Golf Club between Oporto and Vila Real is an interesting 18 hole course. It is around 1hour and 15 minutes via the A11 and A13 motorways. A buggy is a must (very hilly course).
Travel
Oporto (Porto) airport is about 50 miles (80km) from the cottage, takes around an hour, mostly motorway. There are regular flights by Ryanair from Liverpool, Bristol, London Stanstead, Paris and Stockholm. Santiago de Compestela airport (Northern Spain) is around 1 hours and 40 mins. The nearest ferry port is Santander (around 400km).
Distances
The nearest village is about 1 mile away with a ‘sell everything’ private supermarket. Ponte de Lima the very old Roman Town is around 15 mins drive. Here there is the river beach and many places of interest and good restaurants. Barcelos is around 22km with its very famous weekly market.
