Quinta Monte Alem is a typical Portuguese farmhouse, situated in Alcaria Fria in the Eastern Algarve. The house is hidden in a wonderful valley with gorgeous views and you can see the ocean on the horizon. You will be able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings as the farm is the only house in the valley. No neighbours, no cars - total privacy. This Portuguese farm was built more than 100 years ago and has been restored to its old glory a couple of years ago. The 65 cm thick old walls will keep you cool, even on hot summer days. The Quinta is surrounded by 6 different terraces. Do you want to read a book in the shadow of the old cork oak? Enjoy breakfast with fresh orange juice on the patio? Have your aperitif in the sun while enjoying the panorama? You could even climb up 40 meters more to find an even more spectacular view from the old threshing floor (‘eira’). On the floor you will find the famous terracotta tiles which are made in the nearby village.

The house is cleaned and the linen changed each week. Mid-week cleaning included if you stay more than 1 week.

The total area surrounding the Quinta is more than 4.000 sqm. The Quinta is surrounded by 6 different terraces. Do you want to read a book in the shadow of the old cork oak? In the garden of your holiday home you will find a selection of Mediterranean fruit trees: oranges, lemons, olives, grapefruit, figs, apples. We also have palm trees, various fresh herbs and a lot of flowers (oleander, hibiscus and bougainvillea). Even eucalyptus trees and papyrus, succulent plants and the typical Algarvian cork oaks. While taking a refreshing bathe in the 4 meter wide plunge pool you will be able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. At night, thousands of stars will be reflected in it and while you count the shooting stars.

Coast/Beach
Several beaches are within short driving distance of the house.

Golf
The Eastern Algarve has several nice golf courses within short distance of the house. For those of you who would like some lessons, we have our own professional!

Special interest holidays
We provide several extra services, such as: airport pick-up, catering of fresh and frozen foods, a chef, for preparing meals, babysitting, jeep safaris, golf lessons, mountain bike rental.

Travel
The nearest airport is Faro, at approx. 30 min drive. Car hire is recommended (we can help you at very competitive rates).

Distances
The nearest village with supermarkets, banks, pharmacy etc are at 10 km, Tavira is the nearest town.

Booking notes
For bookings more than 2 months in advance of arrival, a 25 % non-returnable deposit is payable on booking with the balance of 75 % due 2 months before arrival. For bookings less than 2 months before arrival, full payment is required on booking.
