The sheltered position of Sao Martinho Do Porto, thanks to its famous shell shaped bay, makes it a haven for safe, warm bathing in tranquil waters. Yet also, just outside the bay there are many fantastic areas for surfing. This luxury duplex property has a superb elevated position with sweeping bay views - just a few steps away from the beach (50m) in the most sought after area of Sao Martinho Do Porto. You will find most restaurants and bars in this area with friendly, professional staff who can speak English. The apartment is spacious 145 sq metres with contemporary furnishings. The private balcony on the upper floor is perfect for entertaining. An additional private patio accessed from the lounge and kitchen has direct access to the pool (handy for families). Lifeguard is present in summer months at pool and beach. We own 2 apartments in this block just one door away from each other (ref P3589).

Changeover day

Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to master bedroom + 1 family bathroom with bath and shower over bath + one downstairs toilet, sink, bidet.
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen. Microwave. Cooker. Hob. Fridge/Freezer. Kettle. Coffee Machine. Basic supplies (tea/coffee/pasta etc). Ice tray. Washing Machine. Dishwasher. Airer for clothes. Toaster etc etc.
Utility Room: Iron, ironing board, hoover, broom, dust pan and brush, cleaning materials.
Living Rooms: Flat screen 32 inch LCD TV, DVD player, 2 brown leather sofas, 1 double sofa-bed. Designer dining table and chairs for 8 people. Large selection of DVDs (over 40). CD player with radio and speakers and connection cable for iPod.
Other: Sorry no smoking or pets allowed.

Cleaning charge is 75 Euros per stay. Apartment is cleaned on your departure and will be clean for your arrival including all linen. Additional cleaning can be arranged.

 

Notes on accommodation
The steps from the apartment lead down to a safe small grass playground with various attractions for children in front of the beach. The property has a high chair, travel cot, baby bath, steps for sink, potty, baby reclining chair, soft baby fleece throws, beakers, baby spoons and baby bowls with underneath grips.

Accessibility
The property benefits from garage for one car with door direct to apartment, however, these apartments have a steep driveway so you may prefer to leave your car on the road next to the apartment. There are steps to the beach which may be unsuitable for the very elderly or disabled.

Outside
Shared private pool (open all year) and private (integral) garage. Plenty of outdoor furniture to lie on.

Coast/Beach
Approximately 50 meters to fine sandy beach. Fantastic sunset as the sun sets on the ocean. There are lifeguards throughout the key summer months.

Golf
Praia D'El Rey - (famous golf course) 25 mins. Rated as the 13th best course in Continental Europe by Golf World magazine. This challenging championship course runs through parkland before opening up along the cliff top to give some breathtaking sea views. £17 per round.

Travel
Lisbon airport is recommended as it is an easy drive along the A8 taking between 50 mins to one hour depending on traffic. At the time of writing we suggest you try Easy Jet, BMI Baby, Thompson Fly, British Airways or TAP Portugal for flights.
Porto (Oporto) is serviced by Ryan Air and Easy Jet and is approximately 2.5 hours drive from the property.

Foz do Arelho beach (surfing) and fantastic lagoon with great bird life- 15 mins drive.
Fantstic 13th century walled medieval town of Obidos - 15 mins drive.
Caldas Da Rainha (spa town) - 15 mins drive.
Alcabaca Cathedral City - 20 mins drive.
Obidos Lagoon - 15 mins drive.

We own an additional 2 bedroom duplex apartment in the same block just one door away from this one. Perfect for families travelling together but wanting their own space. We can offer a 10% discount for booking both properties. The reference of the additional property is P3589 and it can sleep up to 6 people.
There are smallish local supermarkets within the town. Caldas Da Rainha has a E. Leclerc which is a hypermarket.
