A fully restored cottage with three double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), a kitchen and open plan lounge with a log fire which leads on to a conservatory/dining room. In addition there is a courtyard for sunbathing and a built in BBQ. Fully furnished with one king size four poster bed, one double bed, and three 2m long single beds, a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave and television with satellite reception (BBC 1,2,3 and 4). Luxury Egyptian cotton bed linen, anti-allergenic duvets and pillows and towels are provided, and on your arrival you will find juice, water and wine in the fridge along with cheese, ham, fresh bread and lots of other "essentials" in the kitchen cupboards for your use during your stay. There are plenty of big supermarkets within 5 or 10 minutes drive, but best of all, the village mini market/bar/coffee shop is about 30 seconds away just round the corner from the house.

Accessibility
Entrance door not wide enough for an adult wheelchair but OK for a buggy or child's wheelchair. Downstairs, 1 step up into the main bathroom and 2 steps up to the dining room / conservatory. Main en-suite bedroom on the ground floor.
Outside
The courtyard is very private and is a wonderful place to sunbathe, sit under the sun umbrella and read or to let your children play in safety.
Coast/Beach
One of the best surfing beaches in Europe, Baleal at Peniche 15 minutes drive. Many beaches for walking or safe bays for children to play with 15 or 20 minutes drive.
Golf
Praia del Ray Golf Course 20 minutes drive.
Travel
Lisbon airport is 45 minutes drive away. Car hire (or use of a car) is essential.
Distances
5 minutes walk from Obidos. 7 minutes drive to Caldas da Rainha.

Many large supermarkets within a 5 - 15 minute drive.
Booking notes
To secure a booking a 50% non-returnable deposit should be paid by bank transfer, or cheque, at least 4 weeks before the first day of rental. The balance should be paid two weeks before arrival date by bank transfer or if preferred on the day of arrival in cash (Euros).

Casa d'Alma in Pinhal was a delight. A gem of a cottage enjoyed both as a couple and with assorted teenagers. We found it to be beautifully decorated with some lovely eclectic touches plus all the practical stuff - comfy lounge area with TV/DVD, great kitchen area, laundry facilities etc. The main bedroom with its fourposter and ensuite shower room was a superb, romantic retreat for the grown ups, whilst the pretty upstairs double room is great for another couple though my teen daughter revelled in it for herself. The third bedroom had ample space for the detritus, in our case, of teenage lads - including power points for recharging!! The cottage is a wonderful base; everything we could practically need but in a setting that makes you feel spoilt and special. Thanyou you so much !
