Children: Sleeps maximum 7 adults or up to 8 including children plus a cot. Cot and high chair is provided free of charge. Bottle warmer and multi-bottle steriliser provided. Garden is fully enclosed with gates at the end of the driveway.
Air conditioning: ultra modern and quiet remote controlled units in each room (optional). Pool heating: You cannot beat swimming under the stars in a warm pool! Heated to a constant 30 degrees (optional).
The villa has a safety deposit box.
No smoking permitted in the villa. Ashtrays are available on the terrace for your convenience.

Accessibility
Casa Mariano is a single-storey villa and is suitable for those with moderate walking difficulties. The hallway/bedroom areas are split by a maximum 2 steps down to the living areas. There is a large walk-in shower in the en-suite bathroom. The villa has not been especially adapted for wheelchair access and doorways are of standard size.

Outside
A brand-new 10x5m Italian mosaic-tiled private pool has an underwater light for night time swimming and acts as a lovely backlight to the terrace and gardens. The pool has a shallow end for children with easy walk-in steps. The entire terrace and pool area has superb views across the valley and fruit orchards.

The castle ruins can be viewed in the distance and the ruins are beautifully lit at night. Outside there is table-tennis, darts, a hammock, ample sun loungers, shaded seating areas, and a large floodlit BBQ area with beautiful furniture for outdoor dining - and just wait till you see the fabulous full moon rises over the valley! Sun-rises are just as spectacular. For those of you who are feeling energetic, the mountain biking and trekking centre is within walking distance and they also provide guided cycle tours in the surrounding stunning countryside.

There are many walks to take in this beautiful part of the Algarve - just step outside the front door!

Coast/Beach
Many beautiful beaches and secluded coves are within easy striking distance including Albufeira’s famous Fisherman’s Beach, Gale, Sao Rafael and Castello (15-25 mins).

Golf
Vilamoura's 5 championship golf courses are within 25 minutes' drive. Also nearby is Salgados links course (20 mins), Within 30 mins drive there are at least a dozen other fantastic courses, including the brand new Pestana course at Silves - you'll be spoilt for choice!

Travel
The villa is located just 30 mins from Faro airport with very easy access - the junction of the A22 motorway that leads to Faro to the east and Portimao to the west is within 5 mins drive. This area of the Algarve is perfect for extending the sightseeing to Lisbon (2 hours), Seville (2.5 hours) and Gibraltar (4 hours).
Please note that due to the rural location of this property a car is essential.

Distances
The village of Paderne is 2 mins drive or a leisurely 15 min stroll. Albufeira is 10 mins drive. The nearest railway station, with direct links to Lisbon and Faro, is at Tunes 4 mins away.

Further details
There is a hamlet just 5 mins stroll from the villa where you'll find your nearest café / snack bar which has a terrace where you can sit and admire the views to the village of Paderne. Here, you can also buy fresh bread daily. The village of Paderne itself, with its historic castle, has a number of restaurants, bank, PO, chemist and shops selling the basics. Algarve shopping at Guia is 10 mins drive and has a huge hypermarket and also offers 10-pin bowling, numerous restaurants , shops and boutiques and a cinema complex.

Other attractions such as water parks, zoo marine, and the beautiful Monchique Mountains are all within easy driving distance. The very pretty towns of Alte and Silves are also well worth a visit. There are detailed directions from the villa to all the attractions. Plus our ‘Top Ten’ favourite restaurants and places to visit, and lots of tips!

Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the rental is required to secure the booking, with the balance payable no later than 8 weeks before arrival. When the booking is made within 8 weeks of the booking date, the rental is payable in full. Pool heating and/or air-conditioning is optional and subject to a supplement. We can arrange car rental for you from Faro airport at very competitive rates.
