We have 2 apartments for rent in this complex. Both apartments have the same 2-floor design and are decorated in same style. Please view pictures. Sao Martinho do Porto is a small and beautiful Portuguese village with 4000 people. It is a very popular holiday place for locals. Still quite few international tourists are coming here so you really feel the local Portuguese charm. Most people speak English well. The water temperature is higher than average for the Silver Coast and weather temperature is high all around the year. Lowest temperature in January (average 15 degrees). Many people from Lisbon come here for the weekend. The restaurants have many fish specialties and sea fruits specialties. There is a daily market (except Mondays). The terraces, cafes and bars are very inviting and relaxing. Main season is from April to November, with July to September as prime time. Most other times it is rather quiet. A great place for relaxing and enjoying the nice weather and atmosphere.

There are two swimming pools available for the guests of the complex. The large pool is from 0.9 meters to 2.0 meters deep. Second is a small round pool for children. During high season there is a guard on location.

Coast/Beach
The great beach of Sao Martinho is just 100 meters away.

Golf
Praia del Rey was just voted best Golf Resort in Europe and is located just 25 minutes away. Other golf courses nearby are located in Rio Maior, Vimeiro and Peniche.

Travel
The nearest airport is Lisbon airport, 100 km away.

Distances
The medieval borough Óbidos (15 km), the fisherman city Peniche (20 km), the church and the convent of Alcobaça (20km) from the 12th century, the place of pilgrimage Fátima (50 km).

About the owner
We are a Norwegian family with 2 boys, age 6 and 8. We live in the rather cold climate in Oslo and try to be in Sao Martinho do Porto as often as possible. Since buying our holiday home we try to go there most of the school holidays and have have enjoyed Sao Martinho all year round, from the popular summer months to the quite Christmas and winter period.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Before buying our holiday home, we have been to Portugal several times on golf trips. We have always been fascinated with the climate, the food, the people and the relaxed atmosphere. In 2007 we decided to buy our holiday home. After travelling around the area, we early decided on Sao Martinho do Porto. A great place for families with everything of interest within a short distance. Our apartment was a clear number one to us. Spacious, central and with a fantastic view from the terraces.

Unique benefits of the property
When staying in our apartment, we enjoy everything within a short distance. It is less than 100 meters to the beach, cafes, shops etc. You are able to enjoy the view and the bay-life from the terraces from morning to evening, without any disturbance from noise or traffic. Our family enjoys the pool a lot. The pool is among the largest in the area and we also have a guard there during the summer season. Both our boys have learned to swim there and spend a lot of time there daily!
