The apartment is located at the Vila Marachique complex. Less than 5 years old and situated on the 2nd floor of a 3 storey block. It has a large balcony with view to the sea and benefits from full sun in the afternoon and beautiful sunsets in the evenings. It is served by 2 lifts, stairs and intercom entry system. The apartment is well appointed with good self-catering facilities and is ideal for couples or families.The complex has beautiful well kept landscaped and lush gardens in a 5 acre site with 2 large swimming pools. An ideal location with very good restaurants and bars, Alvor's beautiful long beach, charming fishing harbour, Town centre, Alto golf course, are within a short walking distance.Travelling to the nearby towns of Portimao,Silves,Ferragudo,Lagos,Luz is very easy.Situated within easy travelling distance to entertainments such as Crazy World, Slide and Splash, Zoo Marine (swim with dolphins), Ten Pin Bowling, the Nature Reserve and Folklore evening, to name but a few.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Please note the prices quoted are for up to 2 adults, each extra person over the age of 12 years will be charged £35 per week. Persons from age 5 to 12 will be charged £20 per week. Extra days may be charged pro rata on prices quoted.
Winter lets are from November 1st to March 31st. Lets of three weeks or more will be charged at £120. per week, lets under three weeks will be charged at £200.00 per week.
Changeover day
Please note, generally guests can go into the apartment after 3pm on day of arrival and leave the apartment at 10am on day of departure because of cleaning arrangements, but please ask and we will always try and be flexible were we can.

Linen and bathroom towels are included. Pool towels are not supplied. An interim cleaning service is provided for clients staying for 2 weeks or more but if cleaning is required for under a 2 week period you can arrange this with our housekeeper. |

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is suitable for children and is very safe. We would appreciate it if NO crayons, markers, chalks, or paints be used within the apartment. Please note; smoking is not permitted inside the apartment but guests can smoke on the balcony. The apartment is managed by a very nice local lady who speaks English. She will meet you with the keys upon your arrival at Vila Marachique; she can also be contacted if you have any problems and in any emergency. We also have other contacts in the same block should you wish to rent more than one apartment. Please note we expect our guests to keep/leave the apartment in a reasonable state and dispose of their own household waste in the large bins provided at the entrance to the complex.
Accessibility
The apartment is not suitable for wheelchair users or persons with severe disability.
Outside
The complex is set within beautiful well maintained landscaped gardens. The entrance to the apartment block has an intercom entry system. Within the beautiful grounds is a large lake size swimming pool for adults and a very good size splash pool for children or babies (with non slip flooring for safety) the pool side has quiet areas for relaxing with sun loungers and sun shades that are free to owners guests. showers and toilets are in the pool area. Entrance to the pool and gardens is by Key and a personalised owners fob. There is a pool bar that serves hot and cold snacks, soft drinks, beer and ice cream, there is also a children's play area with climbing frames. Staff are on sight to assist at all times! There is a roof terrace giving spectacular views towards the sea and the mountains of Monchique. These facilities are exclusively for the owners and guests at the Vila Marachique. Relaxing is the key word and with no noisy nightlife to contend with around the complex!
Coast/Beach
Alvor beach is approx 5 mins by car/local transport or 15-20 mins walking distance. One of the longest and safest in the Algarve; it has clear sand,lovely rock formations and coves to the east side. Sand dunes beyond the unspoilt harbour towards the bay of Lagos to the west. There are water sports, and lifeguards serve from April to September. Several very good restaurants and bars are located along the beach. Praia de Vau, Praia da Rocha, Lagos, Praia da Luz are a short driving distance away.
Golf
The apartment is approx 5 mins away from the Alto Golf and 10 mins to the championship course at Penina, Palmares and the new Morgado do Reguengo, Boavista, Silves, Pinta and Gramacho are all within a short driving distance. Golfers are spoilt for choice in this area! Please check web site for complete list. There is a golf shop close to the Venue bar at the edge of Alvor town were you can hire clubs or get repairs done or get some special course deals.
Travel
Alvor is approx 45 mins from Faro Airport by car on the very good A22 motorway. You can get minibus transfer for under £50 return for 2 adults, less when more travelling. If you prefer not to walk hiring a car is easy and reasonable. We have an allocated parking space in the underground car park. Local buses stop just along from the complex serving the beach and town,along with a very good taxi service. The low cost airlines that fly into Faro make it relatively inexpensive for flights!
Distances
The apartment is within 15/20 mins walking distance to Alvor village and approx 10 mins by car/local bus to the Town of Portimao. Entertainment such as Slide and Splash, Crazy World, Zoo marine (swim with the dolphins) Ten Pin Bowling, The Nature Reserve, Folklore evening are all within 30-40 mins bus ride. Booking these and things like horse riding and cycling, can be made at the travel agents a few doors away from Alisupermarket in Alvor. The local tourist office can advise re excursions etc.
Further details
There is a mini-market 5 minutes walk around the corner from the apartment for essentials and its location is in our information leaflet provided. Alvor town has a number of supermarkets, several shops, banks, and a very good variety of restaurants, bars and pubs, many that have good entertainment and are open until the early hours of the morning. There is a market specializing in freshly caught fish by the local fisherman and fresh vegetables. For those that like to swim indoors there is a very good public swimming pool and tennis courts by the fishing harbour. There is an 8 lane lawn bowling green at nearby Montes de Alvor. For car racing fans the formula one race track is 20 mins away by car. The nearby town of Portimao has a larger variety of shops, boutiques, banks with bigger supermarkets for a wider choice. Taxi to these local areas is relatively inexpensive and costs around 5/6 euros or 1.4 euros on the local bus. Much cheaper if you buy the multi journey pass. There is an open market in Portimao on the first Monday of the month and Alvor on the second Tuesday of the month.
Booking notes
25% deposit required at the time of booking (non refundable). Balance required 8 weeks before departure. A breakage/damage deposit of £100 is required and on inspection by the housekeeper, it will be returned provided there is no damage to the building or the contents. Please note: guests are responsible for there own personal insurance.
