Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Vale Do Lobo, 7km/10 mins by car.
Many other long sandy beaches are a few more mins by car.
Golf
There are numerous golf courses/ranges within half an hour drive.
Travel
Faro airport is 17km / approx 20 mins by car. Car hire is strongly recommended. Please note that for large groups 2 small cars is not only cheaper, but also gives you much more flexibility than one mini bus.
Distances
The villa is in the small village of Vale de Eguas with two local restaurants and a small food shop. 2km away is the small town of Almancil with many shops and a large international supermarket. Loule is a traditional Portuguese market town with a very large and varied Saturday market 5km north.
Further details
Almancil has a number of banks and ATM’s. Estoi is about 20 mins away with a Roman villa and much later palace. There is a ‘swim with the dolphins’ aquarium approx 40 mins by car (booking essential during summer). Restaurants abound, from Michelin starred to basic cheap Portuguese all within 15 mins by car.
